Chapter 639 Poison
The moment Amelia joined the group, Thea was the first to react, firing off a bright, celebratory “Welcome!” sticker.
Right after that, Marcelo, Miguel, and Maxwell followed. Even Emery sent one, too, quietly but unmistakably.
Without exception, the screen filled with some version of “Warm Welcome” and “Welcome Home.”
Amelia stared at the flood of stickers for a second, their enthusiasm clearly overflowing.
After a brief pause, she opened her sticker gallery and sent one back.
That was all it took. Across the room, the brothers who’d been staring at their phones like their lives depended on it nearly exploded on the spot.
If anyone saw their faces, they’d think the three of them had just hit a 10-figure jackpot.
“Look-she replied! She didn’t leave the chat. She actually replied!
“I see it, I see it, I’m not blind! Does this mean… we’re finally getting somewhere?”
“Maybe she doesn’t hate us quite as much anymore.”
Three grown men stood huddled together, looking ridiculously teary-eyed with relief.
The an
that had been strangling them all night finally loosened-just a fraction.
And that tiny release only made the guilt sharper.
Because the reason they were this desperate now… was because of how badly they’d treated her back then.
They had no right to blame Amelia. No right to blame anyone.
If humility was what it took, they’d kneel. If patience was what it took, they’d wait. They would do whatever it took to earn her back, inch by inch.
Just as they were gathering the nerve to walk over and try to strike up a conversation-
A sudden commotion erupted not far away.
Amelia noticed at the same time as Jeremy. The two of them moved instantly, heading toward the source
of the noise.
She’d been thinking the party had gone a little too smoothly.
With her luck, a flawless night always felt suspicious-almost unnatural.
She’d assumed it was because Jeremy had planned everything down to the last detail, and because no one here dared cause trouble under his watch.

Chapter 639 Poison
99 Finished
But it seemed those thoughts were premature. Disaster struck the moment she least expected it.
Sigh
When she pushed through the crowd, her heart dropped. It was Nydia.
The woman had collapsed. Her body twitched, white foam gathering at the corners of her mouth, her eyes rolling back so far it was almost all white.
The sight was terrifying.
“What happened?!”
When she saw it was Nydia, one of the few people who’d been genuinely kind to her, anxiety gripped her.
She dropped to her knees, reaching out to check her-
Someone beat her to it, hauling Nydia half-upright, and quickly cleared the vomit from her mouth with. swif.. practiced movements.
Then, without hesitation, she pulled out a small pill and forced it down Nydia’s throat.
“My aunt’s been poisoned! I gave her a detox pill to stabilize her, but we need to get to a hospital right
now!”
The one who rushed in to help was none other than Sabrina.
She immediately dialed 911, trembling as she reported the address, her face a mask of grief and urgency.
“Poisoned? How is that possible?”
“She was fine a minute ago-how could she be poisoned? Is the food bad?”
“If it’s the food, aren’t we all in danger?”
The guests erupted into frightened whispers, fear spreading faster than fire through dry grass.
In an instant, the dreamy firefly-lit atmosphere shattered into chaos.
“Then, we should ask Ms. Nygard what’s going on. After all… she’s the host.”
Sabrina was satisfied with the responses. Following their anxious chatter, she pointed the finger at Amelia.
“I arranged everything here. There is no possibility of food poisoning. Every item served tonight was vetted by professional inspectors.”
Jeremy was the first to step up and speak.
Today’s venue had indeed been largely arranged by him personally, and everyone present knew that.
So once he said that, the crowd backed off.
After all, as the CEO of a multinational conglomerate, there was no reason for him to poison everyone

The readers' comments on the novel: The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy)
I'm starting not to like Josie's character. If any man did all the things she's doing, they'd be considered creepy. This version of Josie is giving me the ick....
Does the novel ends in chapter 716 or is it still ongoing?...
Absolutely beautiful!...
Oh my! I really like Whitney (Jeremy's mum). She's so down to earth. She didn't even acknowledge Sabrina's presence....
I don't know what's with this new writer, but they are only making things worse. Gianna does in fact know how to ride a horse. She's had lessons and she even had a race with Amelia where she threw nails on the track to cheat. Gianna fell in the mud and was embarrassed when they pulled the cameras at a riding club owned by Jeremy....
Why did Cloudspire Estate change from a house to an apartment? Why is the writer acting like Jeremy does not own the property and he is not the one that allowed Amelia stay there? I hate when the writer does not remember what they wrote....
This is chapter 51 again when it should be chapter 52. Please fix for future readers....
New chapters please. If Amelia doesn’t end up with Jeremy I’m going to cry...
