By the end of the day, almost everyone knew. It started inside their circle and spread quickly until even people with no connection to them had heard the rumor.
Amelia used to be a star. Back when she was at her peak, she stepped in to take over the Nygard Group and slowly faded out of the entertainment industry. Many fans never got over it. Her diehard fans had stayed with her all along.
Now that she was getting engaged to Jeremy, they came out in force, loud and proud.
[I knew I picked the right ship. They went from being an on-screen couple to a real-life couple, and now they're getting married. This is everything! Congratulations!]
[I've followed Amelia from the beginning. Seeing her finally find happiness makes me so happy I could cry.]
[I'm so jealous. Amelia found an incredible man. They're perfect together. They're a match made in heaven.]
Faithful and casual fans alike were genuinely happy for them. Even older relatives who weren't interested in celebrity news saw their photos and said, "What a beautiful pair."
For a while, there were only blessings and praise. Then the tone shifted.
Almost overnight, the comments were filled with dissent, criticism, and outright attacks.
[She's not worthy of Mr. Curran. She was engaged to someone from the Desters, but he broke up with her. What right does she have to climb higher?]
[Amelia has so much dirt on her. She doesn't even get along with her family. I heard she ran away for years. Who knows what she was doing all that time?]
[I don't trust her. She came from the entertainment industry. She fought with her brother and parents. She forced out her adopted sister. She's a total manipulator.]
It was the same old story, the same few points exaggerated until they seemed monstrous. Anyone with half a brain could guess where it came from. It was so transparent it was almost insulting.
Amelia didn't even bother engaging. None of it could touch her life now. She closed the page and went back to her work.
But just because she didn't care didn't mean that everyone else could stay calm.
Marcelo, Miguel, and Maxwell saw it and couldn't tolerate it for a second, and even Jeremy saw it.
Jeremy was the first to respond. He had his assistant draft a formal statement, released under his and the company's names, that was clear and unambiguous. The statement declared his feelings for Amelia, his commitment to protecting her, and the Currans' full support and recognition.
"Gianna was never grateful," they wrote. "She used our feelings and tried to bleed us dry. Taking money from the three of us wasn't enough. She tried to swallow the entire Nygard Group. That's not family. She's a parasite.
"Amelia didn't drive her away. We did. The fact that we didn't send her straight to the police was an act of mercy."
Marcelo, Miguel, and Maxwell were certain of one thing. Only Gianna was petty enough to stir up this kind of smear campaign right when their sister was getting engaged.
That certainty made them ruthless. No sympathy. In fact, they wanted to crush her before she could resurface.
At moments like this, the brothers couldn't help but hate themselves for their past actions. How could they have been so blind, so stupid, and so easily manipulated?
The receipts hit the public like a slap.
Those watching the story unfold were stunned, and the comment sections exploded with disbelief.
[This is insane. Can people really be that shameless? It's actually rewriting my worldview.]

The readers' comments on the novel: The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy)
I'm starting not to like Josie's character. If any man did all the things she's doing, they'd be considered creepy. This version of Josie is giving me the ick....
Does the novel ends in chapter 716 or is it still ongoing?...
Absolutely beautiful!...
Oh my! I really like Whitney (Jeremy's mum). She's so down to earth. She didn't even acknowledge Sabrina's presence....
I don't know what's with this new writer, but they are only making things worse. Gianna does in fact know how to ride a horse. She's had lessons and she even had a race with Amelia where she threw nails on the track to cheat. Gianna fell in the mud and was embarrassed when they pulled the cameras at a riding club owned by Jeremy....
Why did Cloudspire Estate change from a house to an apartment? Why is the writer acting like Jeremy does not own the property and he is not the one that allowed Amelia stay there? I hate when the writer does not remember what they wrote....
This is chapter 51 again when it should be chapter 52. Please fix for future readers....
New chapters please. If Amelia doesn’t end up with Jeremy I’m going to cry...
New chapters please....
