The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 659

Chapter 659 Let the World Know

“Really? You’ll handle the rest?” Amelia raised an eyebrow again.

“Of course,” Josie said, grinning. “We’re besties. Mr. Curran came in person. Go, go, go!”

Josie understood exactly why Jeremy was being so loud about it. Having a boyfriend like that was enviable, to say the least.

It also made her think of herself-and Harrison, that bastard! No matter how much she flirted or how shamelessly she turned on the charm, he held his ground like he was made of steel.

“Fine,” Amelia said, amused. “I’m leaving it to you, then.”

She quickly cleared her desk, grabbed her coat from the back of her chair, took a steadying breath, and headed for the elevator.

She knew what was waiting for her downstairs: The man she loved and who loved her back.

Jeremy didn’t even get a chance to text her. He spotted her the moment she stepped out of the building and started walking toward her. She’d clearly seen his post.

“So, you’re free today?” Amelia teased as she slid into the passenger seat.

“If it’s you,” Jeremy replied, sounding serious, “I make time-even if I don’t have it.”

“Alright.” She smiled. “Where do you want to eat?”

“Somewhere crowded,” he said. “Somewhere lively.”

Amelia blinked. So he was really going to commit to being obnoxiously public about it.

“Don’t you know the saying about showing off your love?” she asked, half laughing. “Does it end fast?”

“I don’t know that one,” he said calmly. “I only know that a solid relationship can handle anything.”

She liked that answer.

They traded jabs like that as the car moved through traffic. Jeremy drove while Amelia scrolled on her phone.

Then her notifications started exploding. Message after message popped up. She muted most group chats without thinking, but there was one she’d never silenced. She’d even pinned it, “The Nygards-Happy Family.”

She’d figured it would stay quiet. Apparently not. It was lit up like fireworks.

Curious, she tapped in and sure enough, the whole conversation was about her.

“What are you looking at?” Jeremy asked.

They were stopped at a red light. He leaned over naturally and rested his chin on top of her head while his eyes followed her screen.

The closeness came naturally. His familiar scent wrapped around her, and her heartbeat sped up like it always did.

Amelia instinctively tried to tuck the phone closer to her, then realized it would look suspicious. She forced herself to relax and let him see.

“Nothing.” She kept scrolling. “It’s ‘The Nygards-Happy Family’ group chat. It’s usually inactive, but I don’t know what happened today. Everyone’s going off.”

She said it casually, but her eyes never left the screen. Her thumb flicked upward, scrolling fast to see what they’d been saying earlier.

Jeremy scanned a few lines as messages flew past. It was a mix of older relatives and cousins with profile pictures and nicknames layered with exclamation marks and emojis.

He saw comments like “Amelia and Jeremy look perfect together” and “I’m so jealous of my cousin, she found such a good man.” And, “Amelia has better taste than us.”

He raised an eyebrow, amused. “Looks like your brothers, your grandma, and Aunt Thea keep a close eye on you. The second anything shifts, the whole family hears about it.”

Amelia rolled her eyes. “And whose fault is that? You had to be so dramatic.”

She said it like a complaint, but she didn’t sound very annoyed. Deep down, it felt sweet in a way she didn’t want to admit.

“Good,” Jeremy said as if it were obvious. He took her hand, which rested on her lap, and a gentle squeeze. “Let the whole world know. Then no one will dare mess with you again.”

The warmth of his hand on hers made Amelia drift off for a moment.

She thought about when they first met and how close those memories still felt. It hadn’t been long at all. Now, she was about to marry him.

It was strange, almost unreal. It was as if the next time she looked back, there might already be a child in the picture.
