Jeremy walked over without hesitation, slid an arm around her waist, and pulled her straight into his chest as he asked, "Is it finally my turn to make an appearance? You've been on that call forever."
"Seriously? Don't tell me you're jealous of my advisor too." Amelia looked at him, half exasperated.
This guy really did get jealous over the most random things.
"Not that," he said, brushing it off. "But that's not what matters right now. I think it's time we got some exercise."
When Jeremy said that, a restrained flicker of desire flashed through his dark, fathomless eyes.
Amelia froze.
"What kind of exercise are you talking about?"
"Do you really have to ask? You're pretty familiar with it by now, aren't you?"
Without another word, Jeremy scooped her up in his arms and headed straight for the bedroom.
Strong and steady, he laid her down gently on the bed.
Before Amelia could fully react, his tall body had already pressed down over hers.
"Hey, hey, wait. Not today. I'm not in the mood. I've been thinking about the mastermind behind all this—I feel like I'm close to figuring something out. Don't distract me."
Faced with her refusal and obvious distraction, Jeremy didn't get upset. Instead, he coaxed her patiently,
"Then who do you think is the most suspicious?"
"Honestly? Everyone."
"Have you narrowed it down at all?"
"No. Not yet." That was exactly why she was so frustrated.
"Exactly. Last time you were the same way. You felt like you were on the verge of remembering something, but nothing would click."
Jeremy continued guiding her, "But remember last time? I distracted you like this, and we got some exercise in. Afterward, everything suddenly made sense. You found the clue in the diary, didn't you?"
That ... actually made a little sense.
To her own surprise, Amelia found his reasoning oddly convincing.
The next second, her lips were claimed in a heated kiss. Her mind went completely blank, unable to hold onto a single coherent thought.
Her whole body burned, a deep, instinctive longing rising from somewhere in her soul and overtaking her senses.
Jeremy's kiss carried an undeniable force at first, intense and demanding, before gradually softening into something slow and lingering, gently dismantling the last of her resistance.
His hands didn't stay idle, either. His fingertips brushed lightly along her waist, drawing a tremor from her.
Amelia's mind turned to mush, the mastermind shoved far out of reach, replaced only by the warmth of his breath and the clean, intoxicating scent of him.
She instinctively pressed a hand against his chest, but there was no strength behind it, the gesture almost more of an invitation than a protest.
Jeremy let out a low laugh, captured her hand, and pinned it above her head as he deepened the kiss.
The air in the bedroom gradually heated, and the only sound left was their slightly uneven breathing tangled together.
What a twisted hobby. Seriously.
The reason she still had this much energy tonight was partly because of the shower, and partly because something weighed heavily on her mind.
It was a matter of the person behind the scenes. She desperately wanted to uncover some kind of clue.
So she picked up everything related to Raymond and began examining it again.
Her instincts told her that if she dug from Raymond's side, she would definitely find something.
She had a strong feeling that Raymond must have discovered who the mastermind was—that was why he had been silenced so completely.
"Let's try to retrace it together. We'll think it through and see what we can find."
Seeing how serious she looked, Jeremy put away his teasing tone, his voice turning steady.
His gaze settled on the slightly outdated phone in her hands, thoughtful.
He knew Amelia had never truly let go of Raymond's death. Finding the person behind it all was her deepest obsession—and it was a wish he wanted to fulfill for her.
Amelia kept scrolling, but nothing seemed out of place.
The main problem was that everything on the phone had already been wiped.
Whoever did it had clearly hired someone highly skilled in hacking—and someone extremely cautious.
Once it was erased like that, no matter how powerful you were, you couldn't fully restore what had been there before.
It had been scrubbed completely and thoroughly clean.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy)
I'm starting not to like Josie's character. If any man did all the things she's doing, they'd be considered creepy. This version of Josie is giving me the ick....
Does the novel ends in chapter 716 or is it still ongoing?...
Absolutely beautiful!...
Oh my! I really like Whitney (Jeremy's mum). She's so down to earth. She didn't even acknowledge Sabrina's presence....
I don't know what's with this new writer, but they are only making things worse. Gianna does in fact know how to ride a horse. She's had lessons and she even had a race with Amelia where she threw nails on the track to cheat. Gianna fell in the mud and was embarrassed when they pulled the cameras at a riding club owned by Jeremy....
Why did Cloudspire Estate change from a house to an apartment? Why is the writer acting like Jeremy does not own the property and he is not the one that allowed Amelia stay there? I hate when the writer does not remember what they wrote....
This is chapter 51 again when it should be chapter 52. Please fix for future readers....
New chapters please. If Amelia doesn’t end up with Jeremy I’m going to cry...
