Chapter 126

ARIA’S POV

My uncle’s face went from a pale, pasty white to a dark, furious purple in a matter of seconds.

He slammed his open hands down onto the wooden table with a loud bang that echoed off the high walls, shouting at the top of his lungs over the rising murmurs of the courtroom.

This is completely baseless, Your Honor!my uncle yelled, his voice cracking violently under the sheer weight of his sudden panic.

This is a respected court of law, not some cheap theater for fairy tales and wild conspiracy theories! That engineer was a freelancer. He wasn’t on any kind of exclusive contract with me or my firm. My late brother could have easily hired the man himself to do some quick, lastminute maintenance before they set out on their trip. You have absolutely zero proof that I had anything to do with that regular vehicle inspection!

But Brandon’s lawyer didn’t look the least bit bothered by the loud outburst. He didn’t even flinch.

Instead, he just smiled calmly, reached back down into his leather briefcase, and pulled out another thick set of stamped financial records, holding them high for the judge to see.

Oh, we have all the proof we need, the lawyer said, his voice ringing with an absolute, deadly confidence that cut through the noise of the room.

We tracked the international banking records, Your Honor. Right around the exact same timeframe of the fatal accident, a massive, unexplainable amount of money was pumped directly from the defendant’s private account into that engineer’s personal offshore bank account. Why would you pay a basic freelancer a small fortune just to check a simple brake issue? Unless, of course, you were paying him for a much darker, highly illegal operation.

The lawyer lowered his voice, but the next words hit the room like a physical sledgehammer.

And unfortunately for the truth, that very same engineer drowned in a highly mysterious boating accident immediately after the crash took place. He vanished from this earth before anyone could ask him a single question about his work that night.”

The courtroom went completely wild.

Whispers turned into loud shouting as the weight of the accusation landed. Brandon’s lawyer was clearly telling the judge that my uncle had paid his personal engineer a huge sum of money to pose as my dad’s regular mechanic, tamper with the brakes, and murder my family.

And the thorough police investigation from that tragic night had already proven that the main, undeniab cause of the accident was a sudden, total failure of the brake lines.

My uncle became completely confused. The arrogant mask he had worn for months was completely away. He stumbled backward into his leather chair, his hands shaking so violently he could barely cl together.

He turned around quickly to look at his expensive celebrity lawyer, but his lawyer looked just as sho

confused as the rest of the room. It was instantly clear that my uncle had never discussed this dark part of his past with his own legal team.

He honestly thought we were only coming to court today to settle the corporate property transfer issue and argue about shares. He had absolutely no idea we were here for his neck.

I sat there completely flabbergasted, staring at the monster who had pretended to mourn with me at my family’s funerals. I felt like I had been punched hard in the gut by a professional fighter, and all the oxygen had been knocked right out of my lungs.

My legs felt completely weak, like they were turning into liquid water under the desk. My whole life, my whole burning grief, the years of pain, and the endless nightmaresIt was all a sick lie manufactured by the very man who shared my family blood.

This is ridiculous! This is a setup! I am not listening to this garbage for another second!my uncle suddenly screamed, completely losing his mind as the walls closed in on him.

He pushed his heavy chair back, knocking it over onto the floor, and tried to walk straight toward the courtroom doors. This is not the case that we are here to settle today! You cannot do this to me! I am leaving!

But the judge was incredibly smart, and he had seen enough. He didn’t let my uncle move another inch.

Order in the court! Guard the doors immediately! The judge boomed, banging his heavy wooden gavel down with a furious force that silenced the room.

Sit back down, sir, or you will be immediately restrained by court security. This court is nowhere near finished with you.

Two massive security guards immediately stepped out, blocking the exit doors and forcing my shivering, sweating uncle back into his seat.

The judge looked down at the banking documents with deep, visible disgust, and within minutes, the entire hearing shifted from a simple civil corporate dispute into a heavy criminal trial.

The evidence was simply too overwhelming to ignore.

My uncle was instantly ordered into custody, facing immediate imprisonment on several massive capital charges. The judge signed the warrant right there.

He wasn’t just being charged with corporate fraud and forgery anymore. He was being charged for killing my parents, my late elder brother, the driver who drove their car on that fateful night, and also the innocent engineer whom he had drowned just to cover his tracks and silence a witness.

But Brandon’s lawyer wasn’t even done yet. He took a deep breath, adjusted his suit jacket, and delivered th final, crushing blow to the man who ruined my youth.

And lastly, Your Honor, the lawyer added, pointing a stern finger directly at my trembling uncle, we filing formal charges for his recent attempt on Miss Aria’s life. He hired an intruder to break into he apartment just days ago. He tried to have her killed just to wipe out the only surviving family meny cover his tracks forever.”

Hearing those final words, the last bit of strength left my uncle’s body. His eyes rolled back into his head, his face turned a sick, breathless shade of blue, and he ended up passing out cold right onto the courtroom floor, his head hitting the carpet with a dull thud.
