Chapter 150
ARIA’S POV
During the weekend, I finally bought our plane tickets and packed a few of our things into two small suitcases. Amelia stood by the bed, watching me fold her clothes.
She looked very curious. “Mommy,” she asked, holding her favorite teddy bear. “Are we moving to another new apartment again?”
I stopped packing and looked down at her. I gave her a small smile to make her feel safe. “No, sweetie, that is not the case. We are not moving this time. We are just traveling for a little bit.”
“Are we going to see Uncle Brandon?” she asked quickly, her eyes bright with hope.
My heart pinched with guilt again. “No, Amelia. Mommy has some important work to do. It is just a business trip.”/
To make sure we were safe and comfortable, I called Fred. I requested a room at a luxury hotel, and he handled all the bookings immediately.
When we finally got to the airport, my palms were sweating. I clutched our boarding passes so tightly that the paper bent in my hands. I felt so nervous.
I never thought I would bring Amelia back to this city anytime soon. I tried to take deep breaths to stop the panic, but it did not work. My heart was beating too fast.
When the plane landed and we walked out of the airport terminal, I gasped. A professional chauffeur and a small convoy of black cars were waiting for us right at the curb.
Fred was standing by the car, looking very sharp in his suit. He stepped forward and bowed his head slightly. “Welcome back, Miss Aria. I wanted to make sure you and the little mistress arrived safely.”
I sighed and shook my head. “Fred, I told you on the phone that all of this convoy stuff was completely unnecessary. I wanted to keep a low profile.”
“I know, Miss Aria,” Fred replied smoothly, opening the back door for us. “But you are the CEO. The company must protect you.”
As we walked toward the car, I suddenly froze. Right above the main road, there was a massive billboard for the upcoming hockey tournament. Julian’s face was printed all over it.
He looked fiercely handsome, staring down at the city. Amelia started to tilt her head up. “Mommy, look at the big..”
Before she could see his face, I quickly grabbed her chin and turned her face away toward the car. “Don’t look over there, sweetie. Look at the nice car. Let’s get inside quickly.”
Fortunately, she didn’t question me and climbed into the back seat.
When we finally arrived at the luxury hotel, the manager escorted us directly to our suite. The room was breathtaking. I looked at Fred, who was standing near the door.
“Fred, please wait for me downstairs at the hotel bar. We need to have a very serious conversation about the company.”
“Of course, Miss Aria. I will be waiting,” he said, nodding before he left the room.
I turned to Amelia, who was already staring around the room in awe. “Amelia, Mommy needs to go downstairs to talk to Fred for a few minutes. I want you to stay right here and watch your cartoons, okay? Do not open the door for anyone.”

Chapter 150
20–youchers
“Okay, Mommy.” she chirped, jumping onto the massive, soft bed. I locked the door behind me and walked down to the hotel bar. Fred was sitting at a quiet corner table, a tablet open in front of him. I sat down opposite him and crossed my
arms.
“First things first, Fred,” I said, my voice very strict. “No one must know that I am back in this city. Do you understand me?”
Fred looked up, surprised. “Not even the board members?”
“No one,” I repeated firmly. “I will show up at the office when I am fully ready. Until then, my arrival is a total secret. Even the regular workers at the office should not know I am in town. If Julian or anyone else finds out I am here, it will cause too much drama, and I cannot handle that right now.”
Fred nodded quickly. “I understand, Miss Aria. Your secret is safe with me. I will not tell a soul.”
“Good,” I said, leaning forward. “Now, tell me about the stocks. Why are they dropping so fast? What is the board saying?
Fred sighed and pulled up some graphs on his tablet. “The investors are just scared, Miss Aria. They heard rumors that the company has no strong leadership since your father passed away. They think an acting CEO cannot make big decisions. The moment they pull out, the stock prices drop.”
“What do we need to do to fix it right now?” I asked.
“We need to release a statement saying the real CEO is handling affairs,” Fred explained. “And we need to sign the new contract with the international partners next week. If we do that, the prices will shoot right back up.”
We discussed the business strategy for another thirty minutes, finding ways to make the company stable again. Once we were done, I thanked Fred and headed back up to the hotel suite.
When I walked in, Amelia was hopping around the luxurious room happily. The curtains and lights were fully automated, opening and closing with just a touch of a button.
The bathroom was huge, and the bed looked like a cloud. It was much bigger and more conducive than any apartment she had ever seen before.
“Mommy. Look.” Amelia laughed, clapping her hands as the smart TV turned on by itself. “This place is magic!”
I chuckled softly, watching her joy. I thought to myself, If only she knew. My poor sweet girl had lived in a small, cramped place for years because of my struggles.
She had no idea that she was about to get an endless train of sweet, luxurious treatment from now on. Her mother was no longer a poor, struggling woman. I was the richest and youngest female CEO in the entire country.
