Chapter 151
ARIA’S POV
The next morning, the sun shone brightly through the large hotel windows. Amelia and I were sitting at the small table in our suite, eating a warm breakfast of pancakes and fresh fruit.
Everything felt quiet and peaceful until my laptop made a small chiming sound. I looked over at the screen. It was another email from Brandon.
I set my fork down and opened it with a small sigh. In the message, Brandon wrote that he was still very worried about us.
He said he cared about me deeply and just wanted to know our location so he could ensure we were safe. He wasn’t angry, he just sounded incredibly concerned.
Once again, I stared at the screen and found that I couldn’t respond. My throat felt tight, and my fingers hovered over the keyboard without typing a single word.
I simply did not know what to say to him yet. The guilt of running away without telling him was still too heavy in my chest. But as I closed the laptop screen, I promised myself one thing.
I would not ghost him forever. I would definitely give him a proper response when I was fully ready to face him.
“Mommy?” Amelia asked, chewing on a piece of pancake. She looked around the huge, beautiful hotel room with wide eyes. “Are we going to stay in this big, magic room from now on?”
I smiled softly and shook my head, wiping a bit of syrup from her cheek with a napkin. “No, sweetie. We are not staying here permanently. In fact, we are moving into a very big mansion today.”
Amelia’s eyes went completely round, and she dropped her fork in excitement. “A mansion? Wow! Who owns the big mansion, Mommy?”
My smile faded just a little bit as a wave of old memories hit me. “It belonged to your grandparents, sweetie. My mom and dad. But grandpa and grandma are in heaven now, so the house belongs to us.”
Amelia tilted her head innocently, looking confused. “If they are in heaven, can we go up to the sky and see them today? I want to say hello to them.”
My heart gave a sad pinch. I wasn’t ready to explain life and death to a five-year-old during breakfast.
“No, Amelia, we can’t go see them right now,” I said quickly, trying to keep my voice light. “Heaven is fery far away.”
Before she could ask any more difficult questions, I stood up and ended the awkward conversation. “Finish your breakfast quickly, sweetie. Mommy needs to make a phone call.”
I walked over to the window, pulled out my phone, and called Fred. The moment he answered, I gave him my instructions.

“Fred, I am checking out of the hotel this morning. I need you to prepare a car and a driver for right away. But listen to me carefully-do not send a big convoy this time. I want a simple, safe car. Nothing too flashy or expensive. I do not want people staring at me on the road.”
“I understand perfectly, Miss Aria,” Fred replied on the other end. “I will handle it right now. Fred was incredibly efficient. In the blink of an eye, the car and the driver were made available downstairs.
It was a clean, simple black sedan that looked completely normal from the outside.

us out of the luxury hotel, and the driver loaded our two small suitcases into the trunk. Amelia and I climbed into the back seat, and we officially headed toward my old family estate.
As the car drove through the busy streets of the city, I looked out the window. It felt like I couldn’t escape the past no matter where I looked.
Huge billboards for the upcoming hockey tournament were plastered all over the city walls. When I looked down at my phone and scrolled through social media, it was even worse.
Every single platform was blowing up with sports news. Everyone online and on the streets was talking about the big games. Julian’s name was on everyone’s lips.
The whole city was excited to see the star player return to the ice rink.
I let out a heavy sigh and tucked my phone deep back into my pocket, turning my eyes away from the screen. I tried to harden my heart. I told myself it didn’t matter.
Even if Julian became the actual president of the entire country tomorrow, I would not care. He was nothing to me now. My only real priority was keeping my daughter safe.
He must absolutely not find out that I was back in this city.
After a short drive, the car pulled up to a set of massive iron gates. They opened slowly, and we drove down the familiar, winding driveway.
When the car finally stopped, I stepped out and looked up at the grand building. I was deeply surprised. The mansion looked even better now than the last time I had seen it years ago.
It looked clean, newly painted, and perfectly preserved. This was because the estate was being fully managed and maintained under the company’s payroll, so the gardens were neat and the structure was beautiful.
As we walked up the front steps, the large main wearing a neat apron.

Amelia didn’t wait at all. The moment we stepped into the grand foyer, she gasped and started running around. She was so incredibly excited to be in such a big house.
She looked at the high ceilings, the glittering chandeliers, and the large wooden staircase with pure joy.
We moved our things into the master bedrooms and put all our clothes into the giant closets. Once everything was in place, I took Amelia by the hand and took her on a long walk all around the house and the private backyard gardens.
As we walked through the quiet paths surrounded by green trees, I stopped and took a deep, long breath. I finally felt like I was getting a real breath of fresh air. It was a very strange feeling.
