Chapter 251
And then his eyes found mine.
Storm–gray.
Exactly the same.
Feral and furious, yes–but unmistakably his. There was no confusion in them. No loss. He knew where I was. He knew I was
watching.
I stood frozen, heart hammering, every nerve in my body screaming
He was still Zayn.
82%
Just trapped inside something far more dangerous.
Zayn’s attention shifted away from me.
The moment his gaze locked onto Marcus, the air changed again–tight, electric, like everything was holding its breath. Marcus was still on the ground, groaning, trying to push himself up, clearly stunned from the throw. He barely had time to react before Zayn
started moving.
Slow at first.
Deliberate.
Each step landed heavy against the pavement, claws scraping faintly as they touched down. His massive body rolled with controlled power, black fur catching the light from our headlights in dull flashes. He didn’t need to hurry. He already knew how this would
end.
Marcus saw it.
He scrambled back to his feet, panic flashing across his face for just second before it hardened into something colder, More desperate. He didn’t say a word. He just staggered back, then straightened, planting his feet like he’d made a decision he couldn’t
undo.
And then he shifted.
It happened fast, but not clean.
Marcus bent forward sharply, a rough, strained sound tearing out of him as his body began to change. His clothes ripped as fur pushed through his skin–dark, but lighter than Zayn’s, more brown han black. His frame expanded, but not nearly as much. His transformation was quicker, rougher, like his body had done this too many times and resented it.
He dropped to all fours with a hard crack against the asphalt.
His wolf was leaner, smaller, built for speed rather than brute force is fur was mottled dark brown and gray, blending into the shadows, and his eyes–sharp, alert, calculating–glowed faintly in the dark. He looked dangerous in his own way, coiled tight like a
spring ready to snap.

Chapter 251
But standing across from Zayn?
The difference was terrifying.
< 82%
Zayn towered over him, even on all fours. His wolf was broader, heavier, radiating raw strength. Where Marcus looked like a predator
shaped by survival, Zayn looked like something made to dominate.
For a second, they just stared at each other.
No growling.
No movement.
Then Marcus lunged.
He went low and fast, a blur of motion aimed at Zayn’s side, teeth snapping as he tried to take advantage of his speed. I gasped, my
hands clenching into fists as my heart slammed against my ribs.
Zayn moved.
He twisted with shocking ease for something so big, his body shifting just enough that Marcus’s teeth snapped at air instead of flesh. In the same motion, Zayn swung one massive paw out, slamming it into Marcus’s side.
Marcus was thrown sideways, skidding across the ground before rolling back to his feet with a snarl.
He didn’t hesitate this time.
He circled Zayn, pacing, head low, teeth bared. His movements were quick, restless, trying to find an opening. Zayn stayed where be was, turning slowly to keep Marcus in front of him, every motion calm and controlled.
Marcus struck again–this time aiming higher.
He leapt, jaws wide, going for Zayn’s neck.
Zayn reared up slightly and met him mid–air.
The impact was brutal. Marcus collided with Zayn’s chest and was immediately overpowered, slammed back down into the dirt beneath Zayn’s weight. The ground shook as Zayn pinned him, one massive paw pressing down hard.
Marcus snarled, twisting, snapping wildly, managing to take his claws across Zayn’s shoulder. Dark fur tore slightly, but Zayn barely reacted. He lowered his head and snapped back–not biting down, not yet–just enough to make Marcus freeze.
A warning.
Marcus went still for half a second.
Then he bucked hard, using his smaller size to twist out from under Zayn and roll away.

Chapter 251
He got to his feet again, breathing hard
now, movements less confident. His earlier aggression had cracked, replaced by something closer to fear.
Zayn growled.
The sound was deep and low, vibrating through the ground, through my chest. It wasn’t rage. It was command.
Marcus hesitated.
That was his mistake.

Zayn lunged forward, faster than I thought something that big could move. He crossed the distance in a heartbeat, slamming into Marcus and sending both of them crashing across the road. They hit the edge of the asphalt, rolling onto gravel with a spray of stones. Marcus yelped as his body hit hard, momentum knocked right out of him.
Zayn stood over him once more, massive chest rising and falling, breath steaming faintly in the cold night air. His storm–gray eyes burned as he stared down at Marcus, who now lay still, pinned by fear more than force.
Zayn didn’t finish it.
He didn’t need to.
He lowered his head, teeth inches from Marcus’s throat, and growled again–soft, deadly, final.
Marcus froze completely.
Slowly, carefully, Zayn stepped back.
The message was clear.
This was over.
I stood there shaking, barely aware of the cold, barely aware of anything except the way Zayn lifted his head and looked back at me
again.
Those storm–gray eyes found mine through the darkness.
