We landed hours later, but the moment the doors opened, I was already moving. Kael insisted on driving-said he’d get us there faster. I didn’t argue. Arguing required energy, logic, patience. I had none of those left.

His blue Mustang was waiting at the edge of the private runway, engine already running, headlights slicing through the heavy predawn dark. He looked calmer than I felt, but his knuckles were white around the steering wheel, his jaw tight. Whatever existed between him and Aurora-

whatever bond he claimed-was written across every line of his face.

And even now, I didn’t care.

Aurora was missing.

Taken.

And every minute we spent breathing while she wasn’t here felt like a betrayal.

The drive stretched out in tense silence. The world outside blurred-trees, empty fields, long stretches of dark highway. My thoughts were a chaotic storm I couldn’t slow down. Every scenario that came to mind was worse than the last. Every possibility involved my father… and what

he was capable of.

The auction house came into view like a memory I’d tried to suppress.

Beautiful.

Elegant.

Perfect.

A house that looked almost warm from afar.

Lights gently shining through tall windows.

Curtains drawn neatly. Flowerbeds manicured. Ivy climbing the walls like a careful decoration rather than a warning.

A place that pretended to be safe.

A place that fooled no one with a working soul.

Kael barely put the car in park before I was already out, boots hitting the gravel hard.

The front steps blurred under me as I took them two at a time. I didn’t knock.

I didn’t need permission.

I drew my leg back and kicked the door.

Wood splintered.

Chapter 345

The lock tore out.

The heavy door slammed inward, crashing against the wall so hard dust drifted from the ceiling.

And then-silence.

A silence that was wrong. Too complete.

Too still.

I stepped inside, the smell hitting me immediately. Lavender-faint, nearly gone. The scent they used to mask everything underneath. Only now… there was nothing underneath to hide. No movement. No whispers behind closed doors. No soft footsteps upstairs. No breathing but

mine.

The chandeliers hung cold and unlit.

The foyer felt stripped.

Hollow.

Kael entered behind me, but I barely registered it. My body moved on its own, instincts burning through me as I headed toward the first hall on

the left.

I pushed the first door open.

Nothing.

The bed stripped bare.

No sheets.

No scent.

No girl sitting on the mattress with red eyes wide in terror.

My stomach twisted.

I moved to the next room.

Then the next.

And the next.

Each one empty.

Each one cleaned out to the bone.

Beds bare. Tables empty.

No personal items.

No clothes, no shoes, no blankets thrown carelessly aside.

No girls.

Gone.

All of them.

I felt my pulse spike, the roar of blood thick in my ears as I moved faster, pushing down the hall, slamming doors open one after another.

Empty.

Empty.

Empty.

Kael stayed behind me, silent but focused, checking rooms I passed, scanning every corner. His expression darkened with every empty room he saw, but I barely noticed him. Panic was clawing at my insides, rising faster than I could push it down.

Antoinette’s office-empty.

Chris’s room-empty.

Their scent almost erased.

The whole house was hollow.

Scrubbed clean.

Wiped of life.

Like they’d vanished overnight.
