Vivica didn't hand the phone to Fletcher’s father and sister. She simply turned the screen toward them so they could see.
Dylan didn't even finish reading before he slapped his thigh in frustration. "That bastard! He... he must have been seduced by that woman! If you had just treated him better, showed him a little more care, he wouldn't have been tempted by someone else."
"Someone else? Riley and your son used to date. It's impossible that your family knew nothing about it. What's the point of playing dumb now?"
Vivica countered every accusation with calm composure.
"Even so, you could just get a divorce! Why did you have to get my son thrown in a holding cell? Is that any place for a human being? He's a CEO, a man of his standing! How is he supposed to face anyone after this?"
Dylan blindly defended his son, completely forgetting what he had actually done.
Loretta chimed in, "Exactly! My brother has been good to you all these years. Aren't you afraid of the consequences for doing this?"
Vivica’s voice was cold. "Did he not tell you why he was detained?"
Loretta faltered, then rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "It was just... he pushed you by accident."
"Pushed me by accident?" Vivica let out a humorless laugh and took a step forward, pointing to her own face. "Does this look like an accident? This was the work of your brother and his despicable partner in crime. If it weren't for Chaim, I would have pressed criminal charges to give him a permanent record. He's only in temporary detention, and you're already this upset?"
"Forget it. Since you're incapable of reason, I won't waste my breath. The police operate according to the law. If you have a problem, take it up with them. It's no use talking to me."
Vivica felt she had overestimated them, thinking a rational conversation was possible. Now, seeing it was like talking to a brick wall, she turned to leave.
But Loretta, in a panic, rushed forward and grabbed her arm.
"You can't go! You have to tell the police yourself that it was all a misunderstanding, that my brother was just playing around with you. He can't be held in detention!"
Though Loretta looked frail, her grip was surprisingly strong. Vivica stumbled, and a bodyguard immediately moved to pull Loretta away, but even he struggled to break her hold.
