The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 293

“Do Sheridan and Melanie know you came to Sydville to pick me up?” Vivica asked, staring at him seriously.

Joseph answered honestly, “I didn’t tell them.”

Before she could respond, he cut her off, already knowing what she was going to say. “Are you still trying to hide this from my parents?”

Vivica mumbled, unsure what to say.

“Have you forgotten? Even Chaim knows his grandma wants us to have a baby together. Did you really think you could keep it from them?” Joseph raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile playing on his lips.

Vivica’s face crumpled. She had no words to describe the tangle of emotions she was feeling. She had already accepted Sheridan and Melanie as her own parents, and now she was getting involved with their son. What would people think?

“Come on, Chaim is waiting for you at home,” Joseph said, turning to wrap an arm around her shoulders and guiding her toward the exit.

Sure enough, the family driver saw them emerge together, his expression perfectly calm, without a hint of surprise.

Joseph personally saw Vivica into the car, reminding the driver to drive slowly and carefully.

“Alright, you should head back. Call me if you need anything,” he said before gently closing the door.

Vivica was a little surprised. She had expected him to try for another intimate moment before they parted.

But on second thought, Joseph wasn't the type for frivolous public displays. The kiss in the car last night had happened late, in the dark, in a city far from home, with only the two of them present. Now, they were surrounded by their drivers, Roderic, and a stream of travelers. His formal, disciplined nature would never allow him to tarnish his image with clingy behavior in public.

“Okay, you get back to work. Bye,” Vivica said, waving slightly from the open window.

Hearing her son's voice made her heart ache with longing. “Mommy misses you so, so much too, Chaim. I even dreamed about my sweet boy when I was sleeping.”

They chattered happily until the car was pulling through the gates of the estate.

The snow was still falling gently. Chaim, bundled up in a thick coat, hat, and gloves, ran out to meet her.

Vivica stepped out of the car and immediately knelt to catch her son as he barreled into her arms.

“Mommy, you’re finally back!”

“I know, sweetheart, but Mommy had to work. You were such a good boy, so brave for our first time apart.” Vivica praised her son, then stood as Melanie approached. “Thank you so much for everything these past few days. You’ve taken such wonderful care of Chaim. I think he’s even gained a little weight.”
