Vivica didn't hear at first. It wasn't until a colleague passed by and tapped on her desk that she finally looked up.

"Vivica, someone's here for you," the colleague repeated.

Colleagues were coming and going, all of them staring. Vivica didn't want to become office gossip, so she headed for the elevators. "Let's talk somewhere else."

Fletcher immediately followed.

Inside the elevator, his tone was a mixture of surprise and jealousy. "I can't believe that after years of not working, you managed to land a job at a major tech company like Q-Cloud. The pay must be good."

Vivica ignored him, her eyes fixed on her phone. Quintina was messaging her, asking if she was free to hang out over the weekend.

Unfazed by her silence, Fletcher continued, "You took all the assets. You could probably live comfortably for the rest of your life without ever working again, right?"

As Vivica listened to his apology and repentance, her face remained calm, but her heart was filled with contempt.

"You cheated, you were abusive, you ignored Chaim, your father hit me, and your sister humiliated me—you think I can just forget all that?"

Fletcher frowned, his voice growing softer. "I know my family was in the wrong. They didn't realize how important you were. It wasn't until you left that we finally woke up."

Vivica smiled faintly and stood up. "Alright, I've heard your apology. But I choose not to forgive you. And as for getting back together, that's impossible."

She turned to leave, but Fletcher suddenly grabbed her hand.
