The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 519

The next morning, while Vivica, Joseph, and Chaim were having breakfast at the hotel, Raymond called.

"Vivica, come to the hospital after you've eaten. I'm bringing the lawyer over now. Aunt Hillary's condition has improved a bit, so we'll all meet in Hayes's room shortly."

After Vivica had met with Hayes the day before, Hillary learned that she was willing to accept their assets, giving her hope that her daughter might reconcile with them. The good news seemed to stabilize her condition overnight.

At the news, Vivica paused, the spoon in her hand hovering. Joseph glanced at her, then took the spoon and the bowl of porridge to continue feeding Chaim.

"Okay, I understand. We'll be over in a bit," Vivica replied after composing herself.

"Also," Raymond added, "don't forget to come over for dinner tonight."

"Right, I remember."

After the call, Vivica put down her phone and looked at her husband.

Joseph glanced back at her. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, it's just... going to the hospital later..." She trailed off, the image of a 'family reunion' flashing in her mind, leaving her feeling lost. "Never mind. Let's just eat." Unable to describe the strange emotion, she forced herself to stop thinking about it.

Though Joseph hadn't heard the conversation, he could guess its nature from her expression. Once she accepted the inheritance, whether she admitted it or not, they would be family. Contact would become more frequent. He knew she was still hesitant and uncertain.

As they neared the hospital, Chaim turned and asked innocently, "Mommy, why are we coming to the hospital again? When can we go home?" After being away for a few days, the little boy was starting to miss home.

Chaim's little brow furrowed. "But I already have a grandpa and grandma... I just haven't seen them in a long time."

"I know," Vivica nodded, continuing to explain. "The grandpa and grandma we've been seeing are Mommy's biological parents. They are your real maternal grandpa and grandma."

She wasn't sure if her son would understand, but she had to explain it clearly. Chaim thought about it. "It's so weird. Why do I always have two grandpas and grandmas..."

In truth, Chaim had no memory of his other paternal grandmother, as Fletcher's mother had passed away when he was very young. He only knew he had another grandma because people had mentioned her as he got older. But now, that other grandpa was gone too.

Fortunately, he was young and didn't understand the cruelty of life and death. His little heart had long been filled by his current grandparents, and his mind was full of memories of how wonderful they were. But a faint memory remained that he had two sets of them. He even remembered his previous maternal grandparents.
