Vivica looked at Raymond and waved the agreement in her hand. "Mr. Smith, it's ready."
Raymond's face was a picture of helplessness. He turned to look at the elders, especially Hillary.
Hillary knew her nephew's character and understood that he had never coveted her wealth.
But since her daughter had such good intentions and such valid concerns, she was happy to go along with it.
Besides, it really was thanks to her sister and nephew's care over all these years. If not for them, the two brothers from the Chase family would have long since seized all their assets. They probably would have been angered to death, and the weeds on their graves would be six feet tall by now.
"Raymond, just listen to Vivica and go sign the agreement," Hillary encouraged him.
"Then I suppose I have to thank you, Hillary, and Hayes," Raymond said.
He looked toward the hospital bed. Hayes raised a hand and said slowly, "What's there to thank? We should be thanking you. You've earned this."
Raymond walked over and, under the witness of the two lawyers, signed the property transfer agreements alongside Vivica.
In terms of cash, Vivica received a larger share.
As for the properties, storefronts, and office buildings, which were harder to liquidate and impossible to take with her, a larger portion was given to Raymond.
Three luxury cars were also placed under Raymond's name.
After signing the agreement, Raymond turned to Vivica and expressed his heartfelt gratitude. "Vivica, thank you. I'll have my wife cook up a feast for you guys tonight."
It was said jokingly, but the gratitude was entirely genuine.
Before he even finished speaking, the elders all started laughing.
"That's a given. What do you like to eat, Vivica? And what about Chaim? What are his favorite dishes? I'll go buy the groceries myself this afternoon."
Cheryl asked them with a smile, her words brimming with warmth and deep emotion.
The lawyer bowed slightly, reporting the follow-up arrangements to Hillary.
Hillary nodded, a look of profound relief on her face. "Alright. Thank you for your trouble."
"You're very welcome." The lawyer smiled politely. He paused for a moment before adding, "Since everything is wrapped up, I'll be taking my leave now. Please make sure to take good care of yourselves."
"Will do. Thank you," Hillary said, turning to Raymond. "Raymond, please see him out."
Raymond turned and walked the lawyer out the door.
Standing next to Joseph, Vivica thought about how her net worth had just increased by tens of millions of dollars. She couldn't quite describe how she felt.
In the past, when she was with the Lynn family, her life wasn't exactly impoverished, but it was certainly tight.
Later, when she was able to make her own money, her life should have improved. But because she hadn't yet fully woken up to the reality of her situation, she had allowed the Lynn family to continue bleeding her dry for years, leaving her perennially strapped for cash.
