Upon learning they had swapped their flight for train tickets and moved up their departure time, Hillary asked in confusion, "Why the sudden change? Is there something wrong with flying?"
Vivica glanced at her husband. After exchanging a quick look, she said with a slightly embarrassed smile, "We went to see that holistic healer today... he read my pulse and said I'm pregnant. Joseph is worried the turbulence on a plane might affect—"
"What?!" Hillary gasped, the news hitting her like a jolt of electricity. Her usually frail, illness-weakened voice suddenly boomed with energy, completely cutting Vivica off. "You're already expecting?!"
"Yeah." Vivica nodded, feeling a bit flustered by her mother's explosive reaction.
Hillary broke into a massive grin. "Oh, that's wonderful! That's incredible! You and Joseph are having a baby... and when the baby arrives, maybe we can finally cure Chaim! This is so, so wonderful!"
Hillary kept murmuring to herself, overjoyed for her daughter and the family's future.
"Mr. Baird, given our health, my husband and I are in no position to look after Vivica. I'm afraid the heavy lifting will fall entirely on you and your parents."
Hillary was incredibly tactful. Even though she physically couldn't help, she made sure to verbally express her deep gratitude to her son-in-law and his family.
Joseph looked at his wife, his handsome face softening with pure adoration. "Of course. Vivica is my wife, and she's carrying my child. Taking care of her is my absolute duty. As for my parents, they adore Vivica even more than they adore me, their actual son."
"Oh, stop exaggerating," Vivica playfully scolded him.
"You know perfectly well I'm not exaggerating."
Although Joseph's tone was teasing, his eyes were overflowing with warmth.
Seeing how deeply in love they were, Hillary felt a profound sense of peace.

On the first-class train ride back to Riverdale City, Vivica was once again treated like royalty.
Vivica nodded, completely agreeing. "Exactly. You genuinely deserve praise for this, Mr. Baird."
Joseph shot her a sideways glance. "Now you're just making fun of me. That sounded like sarcasm."
"Not at all. I'm praising you from the bottom of my heart. A life like this... it's something the old me never would have even dared to dream of," Vivica confessed, her voice turning earnest.
Joseph fell silent for a moment.
He knew exactly what she meant. She was thinking about her past.
The sheer agony she must have endured while pregnant with Chaim must have been unbearable.
"From now on, you can dream of anything you want," Joseph said casually, yet with unwavering conviction. "And I'll make sure it comes true."
