The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 607

Vivica shot her a sideways glance, immediately correcting her. "Who wants to be a little lily? I'm a rose with thorns."

Quintina gave her a thumbs-up. "Right, right. Whatever you say."

Laura, the housekeeper, brought over some fruit tea. Quintina thanked her politely.

Once Laura left, Quintina let out a dramatic sigh. "Honestly, I'm just riding my best friend's coattails, getting a taste of the high society life. I should just come hang out here every time I have a day off."

Catching the underlying meaning, Vivica turned to look at her. "What's that supposed to mean? What were you originally supposed to be doing today?"

Quintina slumped back into the cushions, crossing her legs. "What else? My mom set up another blind date for me. I stood the guy up. Didn't go."

Vivica's eyes widened in surprise, her brow furrowing. "Is that... a good idea? Putting aside the fact that the guy is probably annoyed, does this mean you're not going home?"

If she showed her face at her parents' house now, they'd practically chase her out with a broom.

"Ugh," Quintina groaned. "It's not like I wanted to do it, but they just won't listen! They keep forcing these setups on me."

So, this was her form of rebellion. She figured if she made them mad enough, they'd finally wash their hands of her, and she'd be free from the endless parade of awkward dates.

Just then, Vivica's phone rang. She glanced at the screen, pressed her lips together, and muted it.

Quintina immediately caught on. "The dreaded consecutive calls from your mom?"

"Male doctors... aren't all like that, right? For example—" Vivica dragged out the syllables, turning to look at her friend. When their eyes met, a sly smile crept onto her face. "You know exactly who I'm talking about."

Quintina rolled her eyes. Of course she did.

Remembering what Joseph had mentioned last time, Vivica's inner matchmaker flared to life. She sat up a little straighter, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Seriously, Quintina, why won't you consider Dr. Murphy? He's a genuinely good guy. He doesn't flirt with the nurses, he's not balding or out of shape, and he's single and unattached. Isn't he practically custom-made for you?"

Quintina just sipped her fruit tea in silence.

Vivica kept pushing. "Didn't you just say you enjoyed the perks of a wealthy lifestyle? Can't you just look at his bank account and give him a chance?"
