The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 75

“Then transfer it now! As soon as I get the money, your mother will come down!” Zebulon held out his hand, so eager he looked like he might snatch the phone from her and do it himself.

Vivica’s heart went cold. She stared at her father, a thousand accusations on the tip of her tongue, but in the end, she said nothing.

What was the use? In their eyes, she was nothing more than an ATM, a tool to serve their precious son.

Taking out her phone, Vivica took a deep breath. “This is the last time. From now on, no matter what trouble your son gets into, I won’t help. I won’t give you another cent.”

“If you don’t help, who will? He’s your brother! It’s an older sister’s duty to act like a mother to him!” Zebulon proclaimed shamelessly.

A nearby police officer couldn’t stand it anymore and interjected, “That saying only applies when the parents are deceased. You’re both alive and well, aren’t you? And you’re already fleecing your daughter to coddle your son?”

“What did you say, officer? I can file a complaint against you for that!” Zebulon threatened.

Vivica transferred the money and said blankly, “The money has been sent. I have to go.”

Without another word, she turned and walked away.

Zebulon looked at his phone, overjoyed. He waved to his wife, shouting, “Come on down! The $400,000 is here! That damn girl really had the money. She just had to force us to make a scene before she’d give it up.”

Hearing this, Evelyn beamed. An officer, worried she’d slip, rushed to help her, but she pushed him away. “I’m fine!”

Seeing her daughter’s resolute back, Evelyn called out, “Vivica? Vivica!”

On the way, Roderic, sitting in the passenger seat, suddenly turned with his phone in his hand.

“Boss, look at this video. I think that’s Ms. Lynn,” he said, his expression surprised.

Joseph, who had been reviewing a case file, lifted his gaze to the phone, his eyes narrowing slightly.

The video showed a middle-aged woman sitting on the edge of a rooftop, surrounded by the police, property management staff, and onlookers. The audio was chaotic, but after listening closely, the gist of the situation became clear.

“This must be why Ms. Lynn had to leave in such a hurry this morning. Her mother threatened suicide just to get money from her. How can parents be so biased? Ms. Lynn is so unlucky,” Roderic said, incensed on Vivica’s behalf after watching the video.

Joseph deeply agreed. “Indeed. No one has it worse. A cheating husband who is hiding assets and demanding a divorce; parents who favor her brother, forcing her to bleed herself dry for him; and a young son…”
