After silently ranting about Austin ten thousand times over, Arthur turned stern at once.

He said, “Today’s incident was your negligence. Go and accept your punishment voluntarily later.

“I told you that no matter what happens, Lex’s business comes first. You must protect her safety at all costs. But today, you left Lex unattended just for some useless stuff.

“If Lex’s automatic defense device hadn’t sent me an alert, something terrible would have happened to her.

“I’ve told you before how important Lex is. You must protect her, no matter what. But you’ve disappointed me deeply.”

Faced with Arthur’s accusation, he couldn’t help but mumble, “I know Lex is a Mermaid with the ability to cure gene diseases. But even if she’s weak, she’s still a beastman. I really don’t understand why you’re so desperate to protect a loser.”

“What did you say? Say that again.” The moment Arthur heard those words, his voice turned icy. “Tom Hawk, is this how you show loyalty to me? By defying my orders and questioning my decisions?”

At Arthur’s low, menacing voice and the gloomy aura radiating from him, Tom dropped to his knees instantly, his body trembling uncontrollably. “I–I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. Please forgive me.”

Tom was truly terrified. He had served Arthur for years and knew his master’s temperament like the back of his hand.

“If you want to live, remember this clearly: Lex is not a loser. She is my distinguished gue so a guest of the Cole family. If I ever hear you speak of her like that again, you won’t live to see another day.” Arthur said sharply.

He went on, “Additionally, starting now, go to Yara Planet and bring your brother William back. Let him be Lex’s personal bodyguard. Do you understand?”

Arthur’s voice was deep and powerful, each word seeming to grind out through his teeth. Tom nodded frantically, his face pale with fear.

“Pack your things and leave at once. I’ll send someone new to protect Lex. And you’d better keep your mouth shut. If I find out you’ve leaked Lex’s identity, crushing you will be easier than crushing an ant. Understood?” Arthur said.

“I understand, Mr. Cole,” Tom replied, his voice shaking.

“Get out,” Arthur ordered.

“Yes, sir,” Tom said.

After speaking, Arthur paid no more attention to Tom and turned to walk into the house.

As soon as Arthur left, Tom’s legs gave way, and he collapsed heavily onto the ground.

Just a moment ago, he had thought he wouldn’t survive today. He felt a surge of relief and was grateful that Arthur had shown him mercy. Otherwise, he truly would never have seen the sun rise tomorrow.

He took a deep breath, struggling to calm his racing heart, then slowly stood up from the ground.

He knew he had to leave here as soon as possible. If Arthur changed his mind, he would be doomed. With that thought, Tom didn’t dare to delay for a second. He turned and hurried toward the door.

Before leaving, he glanced back at the closed door, his eyes filled with awe.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Lexie was sitting in the courtyard with her eyes closed, soaking up the sun. Suddenly, she heard Arthur’s voice and saw him walking over with someone.

“Dr. Cole.” Upon hearing Arthur’s voice, Lexie moved the book from her face, turned toward the sound, and immediately noticed the unfamiliar beastman standing behind Arthur.

Seeing Lexie staring intently at the person behind him, Arthur stepped aside, making room, and pointed to William. “Lex, this is William Hawk–Tom’s brother. Tom has other matters to attend to, so I’ve sent William to protect you.”

Hearing this, Lexie looked up at William’s face. It was a cute, baby–faced young man.

Tom had the rugged look of a mature uncle, but William, his own brother, had a lovely, boyish face.

His eyes were large, shining with curiosity and innocence, making people can’t help but want to get close to him.

Looking at William, Lexie couldn’t help but marvel secretly at the Hawk family’s genes. The two brothers had completely different styles, yet both were distinctive and charming.

“Hello, William.” Lexie smiled softly and greeted him politely.

William looked at Lexie, a shy smile spreading across his face. He scratched the back of his head awkwardly and said, “Hello, Lex. I–I’m on my first protection mission. If I do anything wrong, please forgive me.”
