The Lies Behind Her Marriage novel Chapter 304

Serena's Inspiration.

Around two years later.

“For years, neurological treatment plans for children with autism followed generalized structures that did not fully account for how different every child truly is,” Serena said before the audience.

Behind her, the massive screen shifted.

The image of Project Alisa appeared on the LED screen.

Soft murmurs immediately spread among the audience.

“Looks amazing.”

“Marvelous.”

“It’s definitely promising.”

Serena smiled faintly, her eyes landing on her family, “Today, in collaboration with Thorne Neurological Sciences Institute and VanderMed Technologies, we are introducing an AI-assisted adaptive neurological developmental platform designed to personalize therapy and developmental support for children on the spectrum.”

“Project Alisa analyzes behavioral patterns, speech development, sensory responses, emotional triggers, and neurological activity in real time,” Serena explained. “The system then helps doctors and therapists build individualized developmental programs specifically tailored to each child’s unique needs, learning pace, and communication style.”

Behind her, the screen displayed several developmental models and adaptive therapy simulations.

“No two children with autism experience the world the same way,” Serena continued. “So why should treatment and therapy remain generalized?”

“The platform continuously learns from each child’s progress, allowing therapists, educators, and parents to understand better sensory overload, emotional distress, communication difficulties, and developmental patterns before they escalate into frustration or isolation.”

Applause echoed throughout the convention hall.

Serena looked toward the screen behind her, where the system’s interface, developmental mapping, and neurological analysis models were being displayed.

“Artificial intelligence is often viewed as something cold,” Serena admitted. “Something technical. Mechanical.”

Her expression softened afterward. “But as a mother, I saw it differently.”

“I saw the possibility of helping children communicate more comfortably. Learn more effectively. Adapt without forcing them to become someone they are not.” Serena paused briefly before saying more gently, “Because children with autism are not broken. They simply experience the world differently.”

“My daughter, Alisa, taught me that.” A photograph of Serena and Alisa quietly appeared on the massive screen behind her, drawing softer expressions from the crowd.

Serena smiled faintly at the image. “There were moments, years ago, when I worried about her future. Moments I feared the world would not understand her kindness, her intelligence, or the unique way she expressed love.”

Her voice steadied with pride afterward. “But Alisa became one of the brightest lights in my life—in our lives, as a family.”

“And because of her, I wanted to create something that would help other children like her receive support tailored not only to their medical needs… but also to who they are as individuals.”

Serena looked emotional for the first time that afternoon. “So while this project may represent years of neurological research, artificial intelligence, and medical advancement… To me, it will always simply be something inspired by my daughter.”

The audience slowly rose into applause.

Little by little, the sound of praise became deafening.

From the front rows, she saw her husband, Nathaniel, clapping the loudest, mouthing, ‘I’m proud of you.’

Alisa was there too, together with Sebastian. Next to them was Bianca. Xavier had also come to the capital as a representative of VanderMed Technologies. The rest of the family was back at home, probably watching her speech through a live broadcast.

“Thank you very much. Thank you,” Serena said, nodding her head.

Yes, time had passed. Aside from spearheading Project Alisa, Serena had also written a book about adaptive neurological treatment and stem cell therapy for children with autism, which eventually became one of the most influential references in modern neurological studies.

Thus, Serena was invited as the keynote speaker at the International Neurological Advancement Conference held at Crown Meridian Convention Center in the capital, where she introduced Project Alisa before some of the world’s leading medical researchers and innovators.

As the applause gradually settled, the chairman of the conference, Professor Austin Keller, returned to the stage.

“Before we conclude today’s summit,” he began, “it is our honor to recognize an individual whose work has significantly influenced modern neurological developmental studies.”

The massive screen behind him shifted once more.

International Neuroscience Innovation Award.

Serena had returned to her seat when she looked visibly surprised as the audience immediately erupted into applause.

“For her groundbreaking contributions to adaptive neurological therapy, stem cell research, and AI-assisted developmental treatment for children on the autism spectrum…”
