Theo Is My Son.
Gwen’s knees weakened. She almost fell to the floor the moment Noelle said those words.
‘No,’ she thought. ‘That’s impossible! We have kept it hidden for so many years!’
But Noelle’s succeeding words made everything clear to her.
Noelle knew everything.
“Yes, I know Benson is not my son. You made me raise your son with Gwen! That’s why I no longer showed up at the hospital to take care of him. Why should I? He isn’t my son!” Noelle said to Brian. “You have fooled me time and time again, and now it’s time to pay the price for what you have done.”
“Gwen, we found Ricardo Silva, and we have his testimony,” Noelle turned to her.
“And Brian?” Noelle shifted her attention. “We have already retrieved Theo. The orphanage is willing to cooperate with us with their testimonies.”
“We have also found the nurse you paid to swap the babies back then.”
With hand gestures, Noelle added, “We found the money trail and all necessary evidence to ensure you’d all be locked up for twenty years, at the very least!”
“Not only that!” Silas chimed in. “We will be filing a civil case for the emotional distress you have caused Theo and Noelle.”
“We will bleed you dry, Brian, until you can’t even afford your own bad decisions,” Silas added.
Gwen saw how Brian was still dumbstruck. His mouth was open, but no words escaped him.
“Please, Noelle, Silas. I have very little part in this. All I did was hide the truth!” Logan went down on his knees and begged. “I’ll do anything. I’ll cooperate with you. I will give you more evidence against Gwen and Brian—just don’t involve me in this!”
Gwen felt a surge of anger fill her chest. She couldn’t accept her fate.
Then, her eyes landed on Silas Vander. There was no way Noelle would suddenly have the resources to trace back people from seven years ago; it had to be the Vanders. Silas and Serena helped Noelle!
This was all their fault!
“Silas, why are you helping Noelle? What is it that you see in her?” Gwen cried. “Don’t tell me you fancy her?”
Silas’s gaze darkened at Gwen. He said outright, “So what if I do?”
The response shocked Gwen. She reacted, “Are you crazy?”
“I have always liked Noelle since high school. She was smart and talented. I respected her decision to marry Brian and watched her from afar. So when Noelle finally gave up on her marriage, I stepped in. There is nothing wrong with that!” Silas responded.
It looked as though Noelle was also surprised by Silas’s sudden admission. Noelle turned to him, her eyes widening and her mouth dropping open.
“What?” Gwen asked in horror. “You like Noelle?”
Another slap landed on her face. This time, it came from Silas.
Gwen landed on the floor, her hand feeling her face.
“Theo is my son!” Silas said out of nowhere.
Confusion flashed across Gwen’s face, including Brian’s and Logan’s. Then, Silas made it clear to them.
“Seven years ago, on that same night, my uncle had also plotted against me. I was drugged. He meant for me to sleep with an intern. I crossed paths with Ricardo Silva in the hallways and accidentally swapped keycards with him,” Silas said.
“I was the one who ended up sleeping with Noelle.” Pointing to himself, Silas continued, “I was the one who alerted the hotel manager about the drugging incident the next morning.”
“I only left Noelle for half an hour, and when I returned, she was gone from the room,” Silas said. “So yes, Noelle did end up sleeping with someone else, but it wasn’t Ricardo Silva like you had hoped.”
“That night,” Silas stepped back, putting an arm around Noelle’s waist, “Noelle was with me, and Theo is the result.”
“The child you sent to the orphanage is my son.” Silas’s jaw tightened. “Because of what you did to Noelle and my son, I will make you pay. No one messes with the Vanders and gets away with it!”
Gwen’s mouth fell open.
Gwen couldn’t fathom what she had just heard. More tears rolled down her face as she screamed, “No! That’s impossible! You are just saying that!”
