"Oh, so he's the Sutton family's driver. I was going to say, there's no way Mr. Sutton would dress like that."
"Make sense. Sylvie's dad is the CEO of the Sutton Group. He's incredibly busy every day. How could he possibly find time to come to the school?"
Tina and the other students chimed in, forcing an incredibly awkward smile onto Sylvie's face.
Beside her, Owen clearly realized his daughter was lying to her classmates, pretending to be some wealthy heiress. He tugged at her sleeve and said gently, "Sylvie, how could you..."
"How dare you!" Sylvie shoved him away, her voice frantic. "Who gave you the right to use my first name? You're nothing but a driver for our family! I was letting it slide because of your age, but don't push your luck!"
Tina sneered, "Exactly. A lowly driver dares to get handsy with his boss's daughter? Know your place."
Owen's face darkened. Terrified he would blow her cover if he stayed any longer, Sylvie began shoving him toward the door. "The teacher is waiting for you in her office! Go, now!"
Seeing how desperate his daughter looked, Owen knew she was terrified of being exposed. As much as he disapproved of her lies, he wanted her to have an easier time at school, so he bowed his head and shuffled away.
Tina scoffed in annoyance. "Sylvie, your driver has absolutely no manners."
"He probably thinks he can do whatever he wants just because he's worked for the Suttons for a long time!"
Listening to her classmates belittle her father, Sylvie managed a painfully forced smile.
Meanwhile, Nova, who was pretending to do her math problems, wore an incredibly entertained grin.
"What are you smiling at?"
"This is fun."
