Episode 20–T
THE LUNA WHO CONQUERED DEATH
Chapter 20: The Revelation
The Council chamber descended into chaos.
Observers shouted questions. Council members demanded order. Aldric Thorne’s face went carefully blank, which told me everything I needed to know.
He’d known. He’d always known.
“Order!” Council Member Brennan slammed his gavel. “Luna Sera, you will sit down and…”
“No.” My voice cut through the noise, amplified by the power I wasn’t even trying to hide anymore. “I’ve answered your questions for two hours. Now you’ll answer mine.”
Silver light flickered around my hands. Several Council members drew back.
“Are you or are you not aware that my mother was a sixth–generation Selene’s Daughter? That I’m seventh generation?” I looked directly at Aldric. “Did you or did you not commission a witch to create an artificial mate bond between Damien Blackwood and me to keep me controllable?”
“This is outrageous,” Aldric said, but his voice lacked conviction. “Such accusations…”
“Aren’t accusations. They’re facts.” I pulled out my phone and handed it to Marcus. “Show them.”
Marcus moved to the display screen, connecting my phone. Images appeared: my mother’s journal pages, documented deaths of seventh–generation Daughters over two centuries, a paper trail of payments from Council accounts to a witch named Morgana Blackthorn.
“You’ve been systematically eliminating Selene’s Daughters for two hundred years,” I said. “Every seventh generation, right before their twenty–fifth birthday, dies in convenient accidents. Except I didn’t die.”
“Luna Sera, these documents could be fabricated…” Council Member Torres began.
r
“They’re not.” Katherine Wolfe’s voice rang out from the observer section. She stood, and power radiated from her that made several wolves whimper. “I’m Katherine Wolfe, second–generation Selene’s Daughter. And I can verify every word she’s said ”
“As can I.” Elena Vasquez stood beside her. “Second generation as well. We’ve been documenting the
Council’s crimes for decades.”
Aldric’s calm finally cracked. “You dare bring outsiders into this sacred chamber…”
“Sacred?” I laughed, and it sounded nothing like the Luna I’d been. “You murdered women for having power you feared. You manufactured mate bonds to control us. You’ve corrupted everything the Moon Goddess intended.” I let silver light flare brighter. “And you thought I wouldn’t figure it out.”
“Even if this were true,” Aldric said, recovering his composure, “you have no authority to challenge Council

actions. You’re just a Luna. Just a…”
“Daughter of the Moon Goddess herself.” The voice came from everywhere and nowhere.
The chamber froze
Cham
Silver light flooded the room, coalescing into a form I’d only seen in dreams. The Moon Goddess stood in the center of the Council chamber, more beautiful and terrible than memory.
Every wolf dropped to their knees instinctively.
Except me. I’d already died once. I wasn’t afraid of gods anymore.
“Selene,” Aldric whispered, his face pale.
“Aldric Thorne. We meet again.” The Moon Goddess’s voice was cold as starlight. “You’ve been busy in my absence.”
“My Goddess, I can explain…”
“Explain how you’ve murdered my daughters? Explain how you’ve corrupted sacred mate bonds? Explain how you’ve twisted my gifts into tools of oppression?” She moved through the room, and wolves flinched away. “I have been patient. I have waited to see if any of you would remember what it means to serve me. To honor the balance I created.”
She stopped in front of me. “But this daughter remembered. She died betrayed and returned seeking justice. She broke the chains you wrapped around her. She stood for the weak when the powerful demanded silence.” The Goddess touched my cheek. She is what I intended all Lunas to be.”
“My Goddess,” Council Member Brennan found his voice. “The hierarchy exists to maintain order. Without it, packs would descend into chaos.”
“An order built on fear is not an order. It is tyranny.” The Moon Goddess turned to face the Council. “You
have forgotten that power is not given to oppress but to protect. That strength means lifting others, not
crushing them.”
“What would you have us do?” Aldric asked, and there was desperation in his voice now. “Let her destroy everything we’ve built?”
“What you’ve built deserves destruction.” The Moon Goddess’s eyes flashed silver. “But I am not here to burn down your hierarchy. I’m here to offer choice.”
