“Katherine will hate this,” Elena muttered beside me.

“Katherine will understand, replied. “She’s been fighting this war longer than any of us.”

The next evening, our team assembled me, Elena, Katherine, and the six students. Adrian stayed behind to coordinate with Marcus, feeding Harrison false intelligence about our movements.

We approached Harrison’s estate under the cover of darkness. Riley’s shields masked our presence, bending light and sound around us. Simone tracked Harrison’s location inside, guiding us to avoid guards.

Getting over the wall was easy. Riley’s shields created stepping stones of solidified air.

The real challenge was inside.

“Twenty guards on the main floor,” Simone whispered. “Harrison’s in his study, third floor, eastern wing.” “Can Jade handle twenty guards?” I asked.

The eighteen–year–old looked terrified but nodded. “I can make them… calm. Too calm to raise an alarm.”

“Do it.”

We moved through the mansion like ghosts. Every guard we encountered, Jade touched briefly, flooding them with such powerful contentment they barely noticed us passing.

“This is insane,” Maya muttered. “My visions showed three different ways we could die here.”

“Did they show us succeeding?” I asked.

“…Yes. One path. Very narrow.”

“Then we stay on that path.”

We reached the third floor. Harrison’s study was behind a reinforced door with magical wards glowing faintly.

“I’ve got this,” Hannah, the healer, placed her hands on the door. “Healing and curse–breaking are related. Give me a minute.”

The wards flickered and died.

Inside, Harrison sat at his desk, reviewing battle plans. He looked up as we entered, his face cycling through shock, fury, and calculation.

“Alpha Sera. How unexpected.” He stood slowly. “I assume you’re here to kill me?”

“I’m here to end this war.” I moved closer while the students fanned out, securing exits. “You’ve been played, Harrison. By Torres, by the Council, by forces you don’t even understand.”

“I know exactly what I’m doing. Preserving pack tradition against your corruption.”

“Really? Then you know Torres has been embezzling coalition funds? That half the money you think is going towards weapons is actually lining his pockets?” Adrian’s intelligence had uncovered that detail. “You’re being used, Harrison All of you are.”

“Lies.”

“Then let’s look at your private communications.” I gestured to Elena, who was already at his computer, downloading everything. “Let’s show your coalition exactly who’s pulling the strings.”

Harrison moved fast, shifting mid–leap toward Elena.

Riley’s shield snapped into place, throwing him back.

“I wouldn’t,” I said calmly. “We didn’t come here to fight. We came here for the truth.”

“You came here for nothing!” Harrison snarled. “Even if you expose Torres, the coalition will continue. We outnumber you ten to one. We’ll crush every reformed pack and everything you’ve built.”

“Unless we give them a reason not to,” Katherine stepped forward. “What if we offered amnesty? All coalition wolves who surrender now, who walk away from this war, face no punishment.”

“They’ll never accept.”

“They will if their Alphas tell them to.” I met Harrison’s eyes. “Here’s my offer. We release these communications, showing every Alpha that Torres has been manipulating them. You call for a ceasefire. We negotiate terms

No more death. No more destroyed packs.”

“And if I refuse?”

“Then we destroy you. Not physically. Politically.” I felt cold certainty settle over me. “We show the supernatural world that you allied with a corrupt Council member. That you allowed your coalition to be used as pawns. Your reputation is finished, Harrison. Your choice is whether anyone else falls with you.”

He stared at me for a long moment. Around us, the students stood ready, their gifts active, proving that daughters were far more dangerous than he’d ever imagined.

“How do I know you’ll keep your word? About amnesty?”

“Because, unlike you, I keep my promises.” I pulled out a prepared document. “Sign this. Agree to a ceasefire and negotiations. In return, I’ll help you expose Torres and save face with your coalition.”

“You’d help me? After everything?”

“I’d help end a war before more wolves die. Your pride isn’t worth the lives you’ll cost.” I set the document on his desk. “Choose, Harrison. Peace or destruction.”

He looked at the document, at our team, at the evidence Elena had already copied.

Slowly, he picked up a pen.

“I want guarantees. Protection for coalition wolves who surrender. Representation in whatever new

Council structure you create.”

“Done.”

He signed.

Twenty–four hours later, every Alpha in Harrison’s coalition received a data package. Communications showing Torres’s embezzlement. Financial records proving Council manipulation. And Harrison signed the agreement to the ceasefire.

The coalition fractured within hours.

Some Alphas, realizing they’d been used, withdrew immediately. Others demanded Torres face justice. A few tried to continue fighting but found themselves without support.

By the end of the week, the war was essentially over.

Torres fled before he could be arrested, disappearing into hiding. Council Member Brennan called an emergency session to formally condemn his actions and recognize the reformed packs.

We’d won.

Not through overwhelming force or bloody battle, but through truth and strategy.

That night, I stood with my students in the school, all of them exhausted and exhilarated.

“You did something tonight that no one thought possible,” I told them. “You proved that daughters aren’t just victims to be protected. You’re warriors, strategists, and the future of our kind.”

“Does this mean the war’s really over?” Lily asked.

“This war is. There will be others.” I looked at each of them. “But now you know you can face them. Now you know what you’re capable of.”

Jade hugged me suddenly. “Thank you. For believing we could do this.”

“Thank you for proving me right.”

Later, alone with Adrian, I finally let myself feel the weight of everything.

“We did it,” I whispered. “We actually did it.”

“You did it. You found a way to win without destroying everyone.” He pulled me close. “I’m in awe of you, Sera Nightshade.”

“Alpha Sera,” I corrected with a tired smile.

“My mate. My Alpha. The woman who conquered death and then conquered everything else.” He kissed me softly. “And the mother of our child, who’s going to be born into a better world because of what you built.”

I felt our daughter kick, strong and insistent.

“No pressure, little one,” I murmured.

But for the first time in months, that pressure felt manageable.

We’d survived the war

Now we just had to survive everything that came after.
