The MC President's Forsaken Wife (Zara and Knox) novel Chapter 327

Chapter 160-1

The quiet of the consultation room settles over us like a heavy blanket.

Without the doctor’s clinical presence, the reality of the room shifts instantly. It’s no longer a medical consultation; it’s an altar of life-altering truth.

I sit wrapped in Locke’s massive embrace, inhaling the rich, dark scent of leather, cedar wood and cold that defines him. My tears have slowed, but my chest still hitches with residual sobs.

The initial, blinding wave of terror has receded slightly, leaving behind a fragile, glowing ember of happiness… a dangerous, breathtaking hope that I’m almost too terrified to hold close.

A baby.

A tiny, living soul, six weeks old, tucked safely away inside the body I’ve spent months and months grieving, fearing, and trying to heal.

Yet, as the warmth of that realization touches my heart, another cold, sharp anxiety pierces straight through me:

We never talked about this. Not once.

In the world of the Grinning Skulls MC, life is measured in blacktop miles, tactical territorial wars, brotherhood, and raw survival. Locke is a man whose life is built around tactical defense, potential high-stakes violence, and carrying the brutal weight of the club on his broad shoulders.

He’s a man accustomed to war and handling threat assessments… not quiet nursery rooms. We’ve built our sanctuary on quiet nights in the penthouse, holding each other close, and a wild sex life.

I slowly pull back, my hands resting nervously against his broad chest, feeling the thick denim and leather of his cut. He lets me move, but his hands remain locked firmly around my waist, keeping me grounded against him.

“Locke,” I say, my voice still small and fragile. “Be honest with me. Is this… is this really what you wars? Are you sure?”

Locke’s brow darkens instantly, his jaw tightening as if i’ve just struck him across the face. “What kind of question is that?”

“A real one. I mean… look at our life, look at what you do. You just came back from a two-week dark run. You have a gun in your bathroom. The club is under constant threat from every side.”

I pause, and swallow hard.

“We never planned for a child. We never discussed starting a family. I mean – it’s way too soon, right? We haven’t even been together for a year.”

Locke stares at me for three long heartbeats. Then, the tension in his broad shoulders completely snaps.

A low, deep exhale leaves his lungs, and before I can blink, he slides off the edge of the examination table. dropping down onto one knee on the floor right between my legs. He looks up at me like a man standing before his entire world, stripped completely bare of all his armor.

Look at me,” he commands softly. “Now, baby.”

“He reaches out, taking both of my trembling hands in his palms, bringing them up to his mouth to press a

lingering, reverent kiss against my knuckles, his dark stubble scraping gently against my skin.

“When I was sitting in that dark territory two weeks ago,” he says. “The only thing that kept my heart beating was the thought of coming home to you. Just getting back to our life. Just seeing your eyes. Knowing you were waiting for me.”

He squeezes my hands so tight it almost hurts.

“I thought my life was complete just having you, Zara,” he says. “I thought you beating the cancer and keeping you safe in my arms was the maximum amount of happiness a man like me was ever allowed to have in this dark world. I didn’t think I deserved anything more.”

He lifts one of his massive hands and places it flat against my lower stomach, over my flat belly, his broad fingers splaying out wide. The heat of his palm burns right through the fabric of my shirt, sending a wave of electric warmth straight to my core.

“You are carrying my child,” he says, his voice cracking slightly on the words, a thick, emotional rasp catching in his throat. “A piece of you, a piece of me; our blood, our future. You think I don’t want this? Zara, this baby is the greatest gift anyone has ever given me in my entire life. I want this more than I want my next breath.”
