The Moment I Stepped Into His World as the Fake Girlfriend, I Became the Real Prize novel Chapter 18

When a kind, righteous person realizes they’ve completely misunderstood someone, they’re bound to feel some guilt, right?

She had stupidly delivered herself right to Xavier's door, and now he was eyeing her like a predator. It was going to be tough to escape.

Xavier hadn't touched her yet because she was hiding behind the shield of being Sterling’s girlfriend.

But this lie would be exposed eventually.

When that day came, if Xavier still refused to let her go, she might be able to use the young master’s guilt to leave herself a way out.

“As long as you know. Once this deal is over, the money I give you should be enough for you to change careers.”

Seeing that she was receptive to his advice, Sterling’s expression softened.

Then, he noticed the girl acting a bit strange. “Why did you go pale all of a sudden? What are you looking at? Did you see a ghost?”

Noticing her repeatedly glancing behind him, he started to turn around.

“Master Sterling, don't look back. Mr. Hawthorne is right behind you.”

Elena stopped him immediately. A hint of slyness flashed in her bright, clear eyes. “Master Sterling, do you want your brother... to hate me even more?”

As she spoke, she leaned back softly, resting against the wall behind her.

Then, she reached out, grabbed the lapels of his bathrobe, and yanked him toward her. “Kiss me.”

“Elena, I warned you.”

“I know, I know, you’re a germaphobe!”

Before he could finish, Elena cut him off. “Fake it, idiot. You don't know how to do that? We’re supposed to be dating, and you're madly in love with me. We have to look like we can't bear to tear ourselves away from each other.”

“Who are you calling an idiot!”

The boy glared at her indignantly, but his tall frame slowly bent down, bringing him closer to the girl’s lips.

As the distance closed, Elena watched the boy’s eyelashes trembling wildly, like fluttering butterfly wings.

“It’ll be quick. Please endure it for your crush's sake.”

As she finished, Sterling felt her breath closing in.

In an instant, the spot on his neck near his collarbone was engulfed by a damp warmth.

First came a ticklish, tingling sensation, followed by a faint prick of pain that was almost negligible.

When he finally realized what was happening, his eyes snapped open.

It took every ounce of his self-control not to shove Elena away, letting her suckle at his neck.

The overwhelming, unfamiliar sensation caused the hand pinning her wrist to unconsciously slide down and intertwine with hers.

Her hand was so small, that was the boy's first thought. So small that he easily wrapped his fingers around hers.

Their fingers laced together tightly, locking perfectly with not a millimeter of space between them.
