The Moment I Stepped Into His World as the Fake Girlfriend, I Became the Real Prize novel Chapter 19

“Are... are you done?”

A few seconds later, Sterling's voice was tight, and he forced the words out with immense difficulty.

“All done. With this hickey, Mr. Hawthorne won't doubt a thing.”

Unlike him, the girl seemed entirely unaffected as she slowly pulled back from his neck.

“I know it must be disgusting for Master Sterling to be touched by someone like me. Just make sure to scrub hard in the shower to wash my saliva off.”

As she spoke, she looked forward again. Xavier was no longer where he had been standing. All that remained was a half-smoked cigarette discarded on the floor.

“You...”

Touching the hickey on his neck, Sterling wanted to say something.

“Just this once, and never again!”

But in the end, he just threw down that fierce warning.

Then, without looking back, he turned and practically bolted back to his room, desperate to escape.

His hurried retreat looked a lot like fleeing in panic.

Elena remained leaning against the wall, taking her time to stand up straight.

In a way, her goal aligned perfectly with Sterling’s: she wanted Xavier to hate her from the bottom of his heart. The more he hated her, the better!

“Ms. Larkin, would you like to rest now? The estate has many guest rooms you can choose from. Or if you have a preferred style, I can have someone set it up for you.”

While Elena and Sterling had been acting intimate earlier, a few maids had accidentally walked by. However, they had all quickly lowered their heads, nobody daring to be clueless enough to interrupt.

The four young masters of the Hawthorne family had lost their parents at a young age and relied on each other growing up. Their bond was incredibly deep.

The Hawthorne Estate was their shared home. Aside from Alistair's fiancée, this was the first time any of them had brought a girlfriend back.

Even though this was the Fourth Brother—the youngest with the mildest temper—nobody dared to disrespect Elena!

This surprised Elena slightly, but she quickly understood.

The wealthier and more powerful the family, the stricter the rules.

When a master brings home a guest, the staff will only do their utmost to serve them, never overstepping their bounds.

So, she offered a faint smile. Even without makeup, her beauty was utterly breathtaking. “Anything is fine, I’m not picky. Thank you for the trouble.”

But discussing it with family was inevitably awkward. Sterling coughed lightly. “Xavier, isn't that a bit too direct?”

“You were about to ask me for a condom. Can I be any more direct?”

Sterling wasn't sure if he was imagining it, but it sounded like his brother was gritting his teeth.

“About Elena, she...”

“Don't say her name!”

He had barely stuttered out a few words before Xavier snapped at him.

Sterling froze, his eyes widening. “Xavier, do you really hate my girlfriend that much?”

The word 'girlfriend' was just as grating on the ears. Xavier exhaled a thick cloud of smoke and turned his head to look at his brother.

In the next second, his pupils constricted, fixating dead on a spot on his brother’s neck!

The bright red hickey was glaringly obvious, practically screaming at him about what his brother and his girlfriend had just been doing behind his back!

“Xavier, are you okay?”
