"Oh my God, really? You're finally giving him a chance..."
"Shh, Sasha, keep it down."
Lydia's cheeks flushed crimson as she softly interrupted to quiet her down.
"I knew it! You couldn't just brutally reject him forever. He finally melted that icy heart of yours!"
But Sasha was far too thrilled, jumping to her feet without bothering to lower her voice at all. "Lydia, you need to let everyone know you're finally saying yes! Let's see who dares to run their mouths after that!"
"When Sterling gets here, I'm going to make him give you the most spectacular, public confession ever. It's going to make some people choke on their own rage!"
As she said this, she pointedly glared toward the front row.
Lorelei knew Sasha was talking directly to her. Furious, she opened her mouth to snap back, but the girl sitting next to her quickly yanked her sleeve.
Back when Lydia was constantly rejecting the billionaire heir, they didn't have much to fear.
But now that she was actively planning to accept him, she was about to secure her spot at the top of the social ladder. Offending her now was pure suicide!
Truthfully, Lydia was beautiful, smart, and flawless. They were envious, sure, but it was nothing personal.
The thing that drove them absolutely insane was that the man she had rejected ninety-nine times was literally their dream boyfriend!
Sterling was from a top-tier billionaire family, insanely gorgeous, and famously devoted. Not a single woman besides Lydia had ever been seen by his side.
It would be one thing if Lydia just firmly rejected him, but she always left the door open just a crack.
Over time, that completely infuriated the other girls, who saw her as a massive hypocrite who wanted her cake and to eat it too.
The worst part was that Sterling was completely blind to it, worshipping the ground she walked on!
"Sterling is here!"
Suddenly, someone pointed out the window. Down below, the sleek Rolls-Royce had pulled up right in front of the lecture hall.
Sasha practically sprinted toward the door in sheer excitement, shooting Lorelei a fiercely triumphant glare. "Just you wait! I'm going to tell him exactly how you guys bullied Lydia the second he turned his back!"
"When the hell did I bully her?"
Lorelei's face paled, though she forced herself to shoot back defensively.
Without Sterling's obsession, she was literally nothing!
"Apologize yourselves, because I won't! Does her deciding to say 'yes' magically mean Sterling is going to drop to his knees for a hundredth time? Didn't you hear Leon Lester? Sterling was at Midnight last night! He probably found someone there and got totally over her..."
The moment the words left her mouth, she knew she was lying. Forget the others—even she didn't believe it.
Sterling's infatuation wasn't some fleeting crush. The chances of him moving on were practically zero.
In the end, her fate was probably going to be groveling at Lydia's feet, begging for mercy.

Outside the lecture hall, the Rolls-Royce was parked beneath a row of cherry blossom trees.
It was the peak of spring, the branches heavy with blooming pink and white petals.
A warm breeze swept by, scattering a flurry of petals like snow onto the ground.
Under the watchful eyes of the entire student body, Sasha sprinted over, planted her feet firmly next to the Rolls-Royce, and practically shouted, "Sterling! Someone is bullying Lydia! Are you going to do something about it or not?"
