Her phone buzzed twice.

Simon was busy adjusting the height of the stand and shouted without looking up, "Clara, grab that for me! It's definitely that internet provider spamming me again. They called twice already—tell them off for me!"

Clara mumbled an "Okay" and answered casually, "Hello?"

The breathing on the other end hitched.

A familiar voice drilled into her ear.

"...Clara, it's me."

Clara's hand tightened. She pulled the phone away and checked the screen again.
