Chapter 134

16 YEARS LATER

I was helping prepare for a large pack barbeque that we were having in the middle of the pack tonight. It was something that we would throw every couple of months so the whole pack could get together and have a good time. We had a band and a place to dance and it was a lot of fun.

Suddenly I felt someone grab me from behind and I almost dropped the plate that I was holding.

“Aiden.” I yelled, as I turned around and saw him.

“What?” He asked with that mischievous smirk on his face.

“I swear, I don’t know what the hell I am going to do with you.” I said.

“I’m 22 now, mom. There’s nothing you can do.” He said. And I stood there with my hand on my hip.

“Get a job and find somewhere else to live.” I said. And his friends stopped laughing immediately.

“Have I told you recently how much I love you?” He asked, kissing my

cheek.

“Suck up.” Ezra said, coming out of the packhouse.

“So, when are you two finally gonna step aside and let me take over?” Aiden asked, sitting on one of the chairs.

“You still think playing stupid little pranks on people is funny. So I’m guessing it’s not going to be for a while yet.” Ezra said.

“Whatever. We’re gonna go to the training session. We’ll be back before the party starts.” Aiden said.

“Have fun.” I sang out as they were already running off.

“I can’t believe how immature that kid is.” Ezra said.

“I wonder where he gets it from?” I asked, looking at Ezra.

He looked at me strangely before pretending to hear someone call out to him and he had to go back inside the house.

“Luna. Here are the decorations that you wanted.” Aiden’s girlfriend Emma said, coming outside.

“Thank you. Would you be able to hang them up around the outside of the eating area?” I asked.

“Sure.” She said. I wasn’t sure how the hell my son managed to land a woman like that, but he definitely didn’t deserve her.

I know that they’re not fated mates. But I really wished that they were. I had my opinion on a few of the girls in this pack, and I had warned Aiden which ones to stay away from.

I haven’t kept my past a secret from him. Not even who his real father is. We told him a few years ago, and even though he was upset about it, he didn’t hate us for it. He was glad that Ezra stood up and supported me even though I had a child with another Alpha.

As soon as all the decorations were finished I had to go insie and start getting ready.

It was only casual but I had been working all day so I knew that I needed a shower and I needed some fresh clothes.

As soon as I got downstairs almost the whole pack was there and I walked out and grabbed a glass of wine and Ezra walked over and held my hand while we were walking around greeting people.

I loved this tradition. It might only happen every couple of months, but it was a good way to stay in contact with the pack. And they seemed to love it as well.

“Mommy.” 5-year-old Ocatvia yelled running up to me, sot picked her up.

“Where have you been all day missy?” I asked.

“She wouldn’t let me get involved with the party.” Octavia said, pointing to her nanny Jane.

“Well, I’m sure Jane had a very good reason to keep you away. Like you are always trying to sample the food before everyone else gets here.” I said, tickling her.

She laughed and squirmed in my arms while I was tickling her and Ezra laughed at her.

“What are you doing to my little sister? No one attacks her but me.” Aiden yelled, taking Octavia off of me and running off with her.

He got along so well with Octavia. He loved her more than anything. And he was such a protective older brother. He was always teaching her his bad habits. But since we knew where they were coming from, we just explained to her that they were bad and he was the one that got the ass whooping.

Ezra went over to talk to his brother Nathan and Nathan’s mate Mya when I saw the pack doctor walking over towards me.
