The Omega and The Arrogant Alpha (by Kylie) novel Chapter 169

It was still dark and there should be patrols running the border but we couldn’t see them. They must have already done the pass here so Justin gave us the signal and we started moving in on the pack.

We made it through the forest without incident and came out the other side in the territory.

We noticed how quiet it was, but it was extremely early in the morning.

A couple of houses had lights on but the packhouse was dark. There weren’t any lights on there.

Justin split us all up into pairs and Ben insisted on coming with me.

“We’ve trained together every day. We know how each other operates.” Ben said.

“Alright. Go and clear those houses over there. Get everyone to the meeting hall like always.” Justin said.

So I nodded and we started walking towards the houses that were closest to the packhouse while Justin and Derek went into the packhouse. Derek was the next senior person on this mission at 22 years old. So they thought that they should take control of the Alpha and Luna.

Ben and I made our way to the first house and I got to the front door and I tried the door handle, surprised that it was unlocked.

So I opened the door and we went inside and had our guns at the ready in case we came face to face with any sort of enemy that we weren’t prepared for.

We cleared every room in that first house, but it was empty.

So we went to the next house with the exact same result.

I started looking through their things and it didn’t look like they had taken anything with them. All of their clothes and stuff were still here.

So we walked out the front and cleared the rest of the houses that we were told to check, but every single one of them was empty.

When we got to the clearing next to the packhouse, the others met us there including Justin and Derek.

“Well?” Justin asked.

“There’s no one here.” I said, confused.

So we all grabbed the large torches and accelerants and we went from house to house, business to business and set them all on fire.

We then turned around and left the pack and got back to the helicopter that was waiting for us and we headed back home.

I could tell that everyone was really confused about what we just saw.

Something happened to that pack and it wasn’t us. So, what the hell made everyone disappear.

We were all quiet on the way home, obviously all confused and trying to make sense of what we just saw because that definitely wasn’t normal.

I knew that Stevens and the researchers are going to be all over this.

We’ll probably have answers in a few hours. Somehow, they manage to work that fast and find these things out.

I guess that’s the upside of being part of a military installation.
