The Omega and The Arrogant Alpha (by Kylie) novel Chapter 172

CAPTAIN STEVENS POV

As soon as I got back to my office I saw someone sitting at my desk so I walked around to my side of the desk and saw councilman Webber sitting there.

“What can I do for you today?” I asked, slowly sitting down. I didn’t really know how to act in front of this man.

He was big and mean and had a hell of a lot of power. Since he wasn’t human.

“I almost didn’t get in here today. They found anomalies about me as I tried to show them my clearance to get in here. That makes me very upset.” Webber said.

“I am so sorry, sir. I’m sure it was an oversight.” I said.

I wasn’t even sure how to sit. If I crossed my legs I felt like I was being disrespectful, if I leaned back in my chair then he would think that I was being disrespectful by not taking this seriously.

So I chose to place my arms on the desk with my fingers interlocked with each other.

“It better not happen again.” Webber said.

“I’ll make sure of it.” I said.

I knew exactly why he was here and I hated it when he was here. If he does get caught then so do I. And the rest of the Hunters, but more importantly, Alpha Ezra and Luna Morgan are going to find out a hell of a lot more about their precious little angel that they were desperately looking for.

“I want to know what happened with the last mission. The reports I got say that none of the villagers were killed.” Webber said.

“That’s because they weren’t. No one was there. The pack had already been evacuated by the time we arrived.” I tried to explain.

“Who the hell did that?” He growled.

I jumped a little when he raised his voice because it scared me. But otherwise I tried to remain composed so I could answer his questions honestly.

“That’s what we’re currently looking into. We’ve got satellites looking and people on the ground.” I said.

He sat there sucking on his teeth. Almost like he wanted me to know that he was a werewolf with canines that could rip me apart.

He did that to my whole team when we first met. He only spared me if I agreed to help him. That’s why I requested this job and I had to blackmail my bosses so they would give me this job.

The door opened again quickly and my receptionist was standing there but I just told her to get out. I didn’t need her here right now. I needed to be alone for a minute to gather my thoughts again.

I wanted to make sure that I still had my wits about me before I made any decisions.

When I left my office I started looking around for Justin and I finally found him near the training field talking to Lilly.

I needed Justin to hurry up and get to the computer lab to find out exactly what happened today before Webber does decide to kill me.

Because when he’s made up that decision, I’m as good as dead. I know that and so does he. I don’t stand a chance against a werewolf. And he knows it and uses it against me.

As I stood there watching them I realized that he had this look about him. One that I had never seen before.

He was smiling while he was talking to Lilly and they seemed to be having a good conversation. But then it suddenly hit me.

“Oh, shit. He’s falling in love with the mutt.” I muttered to myself.
