LILLY POV
When I got up the following morning I saw that Ben was already awake and he was looking at me a little strange.
I didn’t know what the hell to say to him so I just chose not to say anything at all.
He’s a fucking wolf and he’s training with a bunch of Hunters just to get to me.
Ezra and Morgan sent him in here to get close to me so I could see my potential as a werewolf and let my wolf come out.
I have been ready for a lot of shit in my life. But this is something that I definitely wasn’t ready for.
I got ready to head off to breakfast when I noticed that Jesse and Eric were missing.
I didn’t think too much of it until I walked out of the bunk house and Justin was standing there.
“Lilly. You’re wanted in the office.” Justin said.
I just nodded and started walking off behind him until we got to the office.
There seemed to be a lot of activity happening in the office this morning.
People were running around everywhere, a lot of yelling from different rooms and we stopped outside the Captain's office.
Justin knocked on the door and Stevens sang out for us to go inside.
So Justin opened the door and I walked inside to see Captain Stevens standing in his office looking out the window.
“It’s a beautiful morning, isn’t it Lilly?” He asked, admiring the view outside his window.
“I suppose so, sir.” I said.
“Well, I think it’s a beautiful morning. The impossible was achieved last night.” He said, turning to look at me and his smile was actually a little frightening.
I wasn’t sure what the hell was going on here. But I knew that it wasn’t good.
I started to feel my stomach going into knots and there was so much noise everywhere.
I could hear them from down the hall, but I knew that it was the advanced werewolf hearing that I was able to detect.
I really didn’t understand. Ben and I were really careful.
“Jesse and Eric. You know that they’re gone. They were found out to be spies. They are actually wolves.” Stevens said.
“What? How is that possible? How the hell did they manage to get in here?” I asked.
“That’s a really good question. Are you saying that you didn’t notice anything about them?” Stevens asked.
“How could I? I’ve only been in combat twice. The first time was really quickly when Luna Morgan stopped me from accomplishing what I needed and the second time, the whole pack was evacuated when I got there. I’ve trained my whole life but I’ve never really come face to face with werewolves. Not enough to be able to recognise them as soon as I see them.” I explained.
“That’s a really good point.” He said, looking back out the window.
I turned back to look at Justin and he was just standing behind me, watching us and listening to everything that we were saying.
But I was completely confused about this whole interaction.
I know that they didn’t catch Ben and myself. I don’t know why, but I know that Ben would have made sure that we weren’t caught. He would have protected me from being caught after we snuck out last night.
