“They killed Morgan’s friends just so they could get to me?” I asked, shocked.

“Yeah. They were vampires but they fed on animals. They weren’t a threat to humans. Otherwise Luna Morgan wouldn’t have had anything to do with them. And Corey was pretty cool from what I remember. I was just a kid but he wasn’t a bad guy. I saw him around our pack a few times.” Ben explained.

I guess shutting Ben out right now wasn’t the smartest thing to do. He definitely knew a lot more than I did and I could take my cue from him. I needed to learn so much about werewolves that I thought my head was going to explode.

I was trained to kill them. I wasn’t trained to get to know them at all. Which I was getting a little pissed about right now.

I started walking across the base towards the library and this time I wasn’t looking for something fictional to read. I wanted to read whatever they had on the supernatural.

“Here. This is a pretty accurate book.” Ben said, handing it to me.

“It’s in the fiction section.” I said.

“It has to be. Most of the people on this base don’t know about werewolves.” He whispered.

So I took that book over to a table and I started reading it. Starting from the first page, which was an introduction to Seline, The Moon Goddess.

“What can you tell me about my brothers and sisters?” I whispered.

“Aiden’s a really good guy. He’s going to be a great Alpha. Then you’ve got Max and Oscar. Twins and they’re 8. They are little shit heads right now but they’ll grow out of it. Werewolf children always look like they have adhd, but they don’t. They just have too much energy. It’s normal in our culture. And then there’s Octavia. She’s 5. She’s not as bad as the twins, but she does have a bit of a mouth on her. No doubt she got that from Luna Morgan.

She loves telling people how things are going to go. And that’s just like your mother. She takes charge and makes sure that it gets done.” Ben explained.

I needed to get them out of the prison and I needed to make sure that these Hunters left us the hell alone. It was all I could do right now just to remain calm. And Ben was doing his best to make sure that I didn’t lose my shit.

We needed a plan. And that wasn’t going to be easy with so many people hanging around.

We saw another chopper land at the base and more people in black got out of it. Which meant more Hunters. They were upping their game and they were going after all packs with full force.

They are going to wipe out the werewolf species and by the looks of it, they planned to do it in rapid succession right now.

Ben and I just looked at each other as we saw more Hunters arriving at the base and we knew that this wasn’t going to be easy. But we had to come up with something.
