I go straight to Nikki, pulling her intò my arms and kissing her in the same way that I love, completely and with total abandon. I don’t care who sees me. Thankfully, Nikki has gotten used to it and she doesn’t tense up like she did when we first met.

I take my time, pouring my love for her into the kiss. I didn’t know how amazing being mated would be, but Nikki is the perfect woman for me. I’ll always be grateful for Hunter for showing me the error of our ways in how we were claiming our mates. I have no doubt that my relationship with Nikki would be very different and very unhappy if I’d found her and tried to claim her the way our laws stated.

When I hear the others chuckling, I finally pull back.

“I’d apologize, but when you feel grateful for your mate, you want her to know it,” I say watching my mate’s glazed eyes, her lips now puffy from our kiss. She’s fucking beautiful.

“Why are you grateful for me?” she asks. She still feels a bit unsteady on her feet from the kiss, so I hold on to her.

“Well, first, you are willing to write all these damn laws that no one wants to write. That right there would be enough. But I have another dilemma, well we all do, and I’m sure that you and your friends will find a solution.”

“What dilemma?” Allison asks.

“How do we fund these start–up packs? These Alphas are brand new, they may have small packs to begin with, which means few, if any, pack members working outside the pack earning money to sustain the packs. These new Alphas need to be able to feed them, rebuild their packhouses in some instances, things like that. Jake is getting his start- up funds from Ezra, but we have a lot of packs still to go and they’ll all be in the same position. We need a plan for them.”

“You were right, Robin,” Kayce says, and I glance over, seeing the same look in Allison’s eyes that are in Nikki’s.

“Yep, they’ll have it figured out before we get to Alaric’s pack,” I say.

“I already have an idea!” Nikki says.

I make a point of looking at my watch. “Well, even I wouldn’t have thought you’d have an idea that quickly,” I say to her.

I can already feel the excitement inside her, ready to bubble over.

“Alli! We need people to build the common area on the mountain! What a perfect way for the existing packs to pay workers in the new packs. We don’t have enough people to give to the project, but the new packs will. They’ll need the money, which means that we can build it more quickly,” Nikki says.

“AND, if the packs start making money, they can hire the new packs‘ members to help them rebuild their packs keeping the money flowing and making sure everyone has an income stream.”

“They could work in your packs too,” Letti adds, the women all moving together as they start their group think, solving the problems of our new Alphas.

I smile at Kayce and Jake, seeing Jake frown.

“Is it always like this?” he asks.

“It is when you put more than one Luna in a room,” Kayce says, laughing. “Come on, let’s get ready for tonight. They’ll probably want to call Sophie, the twins, and Margot to get their input. We can work on something else in the interim.”

Kayce and I talk to Jake about his presentation to Owen’s pack members tonight, giving him some idea and pointers. We then make a plan for sign our alliance agreement tomorrow after he’s talked to his pack members tonight. Both Kayce and I want our mates to sign the agreement too. I’m glad when Jake agrees that Letti should sign it as well.
