“I am. We have multiple reasons to want this land in our packs’ names and Miles is working with Jake to see about starting the patrols on the backside of the mountain. Between what Alpha Dutton is planning to do and Alpha David still searching for me, we want this area secure.

“Add to that, we’re going to be working on developing the mountain and we don’t want our workers getting attacked because we didn’t have sufficient patrols in place. How about I put together a meeting with us, our mates, Kayce, Allison, Hunter and Sophie, if she’s available.”

“That would be great Nikki, thank you. I also wanted to talk with you about the legal work we started while I was in your pack. Now that Alpha Dutton is searching for Alpha Alexandra, I want to make sure we have everything in place to fight against anything they bring against him and the pack.”

“Thanks, Jacqueline. I’ll send over what I have and maybe you and I can start working on that once we get the land situation settled.”

“Sounds good,” she says, and we say our goodbyes and hang up.

I’ve just sent over the information to Jacqueline when Robin comes and leans against my door. His arms are crossed over his chest and his legs are crossed at the ankle. I take a moment to look over his lean, muscular body. My mate is carelessly elegant as he watches me, the smile on his face getting wider.

“See something you like?” he purrs, his voice deep.

I stand and begin making my way over to him. “Oh, I definitely do. How is it possible for one man to be so incredibly sexy? It’s really not fair to other men,” I say, leaning into him and sliding my hands over his hard chest.

“I don’t know. I think it’s pretty unfair to other women that my mate is so absolutely perfect,” he says, his eyes getting dark with desire.

“What did you have in mind?”

I push the work aside on my desk and sit on it, beckoning him with my finger. “I don’t think we’ve ever christened this desk.”

“We should definitely rectify that,” he says. He takes his time, loving me, savoring me, and teasing me until my orgasm rips through me. The weather outside was nice and we took Rory outside to sit in the shade while we ate and I talked to Robin about my conversation with

Jacqueline.

“I’d be willing to send some of our warriors to help cover the area. I know Reese is using his spare people to start building the community center and I’m not sure how many Jake might have, if any. Plus, they’re working to protect their own packs and the area between them, so they’re spread pretty thin.”

“I know Kayce is working with Hunter to cover the space between their packs, but do you think they have some extra warriors to spare at the moment?”

“I’m sure he does, but the bigger issue is buying the land. We don’t have any legal right to guard it if it isn’t ours,” he says.

“Which is why I’m setting up a call to find out what Hunter has learned so far and make sure that we’re moving forward. With Sophie on the verge of having her baby, he’ll be distracted.”

Robin is lying on his side, his head propped on his hand with Rory beside him. He’s been making faces at him and gently playing with him since we finished eating. Now, he looks up at me.

“What? What’s that look?” I ask.

He shakes his head. “I meant what I said earlier. You are just so perfect. Nikki. I don’t know how I could be any happier. Thank you for giving me this life, for giving me so much.”

I smile at my mate. “You are the foundation that allows me to be this person, Robin. You love me for who I am, and you don’t try to make me into something or someone that I’m not. You’ve always treated me like an equal, but I’ve always known that you were there, right behind me, to support me and to make sure that I would never fall. So, if I’m perfect, it’s because I have the perfect mate who is always there for me.”

I lean over and kiss him.

“Maybe we’re just perfect together,” he says.

“Oh, there’s no maybe about it. We are definitely a perfect couple,” I say, looking down at Rory who is watching his father intently. “A perfect family.”

“You hear that little one. Don’t be coming out thinking that you’re going
