Chapter 404
“Yes, but you smell like death. Go wash that smell off
before… AHHHHH!” I scream.
“Okay, Luna, it’s time to push. Alpha, sinks over there,” the doctor says.
“Hurry up. Get your ass over here,” I say to my mate.
“Next contraction, push Luna,” the doctor says.
You’d think it would be easy. Contraction, push, baby. Nope. It’s more like contraction, push, push, push, push, no baby. Repeat ad nauseam.
Kayce comes back, smelling less like death and holds my hand, saying soothing words that I don’t really hear, but I’m just glad that he’s here. I may or may not have broken his hand, but in the end, I delivered a beautiful, healthy baby girl.
Seeing my mate’s face when he first met his daughter is something I’ll never forget.
“Hello, Brianna. I’m your father and I love you so very much.”

I’ve been in and out of consciousness, nauseous and feeling jostled for long enough that the nausea seems to have settled in for good.
Every time I’ve come awake, or partially awake, I struggle to stay awake and struggle to figure out what’s going on.
This time, I think I’ll be able to stay awake. My arms are numb, my shoulders are killing me, I’m cold, and I still feel nauseous. But, otherwise, I’m here. Although I have no idea where ‘here‘ is. Nothing in

My head is hanging down and my neck is sore too. I groan, moving my neck and feeling sluggish, not knowing what’s going on.
“There she is…” I hear a voice I’d hoped never to hear again. Camden.
I open my eyes, and he’s crouched in front of me. “Hello baby girl. Miss me?”
I try to tell him to fuck off, but the words won’t come out.
“Still drugged, huh? Well, I had to make sure that you didn’t wake up and fight me. I mean, I love the wildcat in you, Nicole, but not when I’m trying to tame you. And, if I’m lucky, drugging you so much will kill that bastard in your belly so I can fill you with mine.”
My baby! Oh my goddess, my baby!
I look down and will my son to move. Baby, please, PLEASE hold on. Don’t leave me. Your father will come for us.‘
Then I frown. Something happened. I can’t remember what it was. Something bad, something…and then it hits me. When the memories finally come, I wish they hadn’t. Camden shot Robin. He was spitting up blood and he told me to run just before I felt the sting of a dart in my shoulder.
That’s when I knew things were bad. I’d tried to run, wanted to turn, but I was too slow, and another dart hit me in the neck. Camden tranquilized me. That’s why I’m so disoriented.
“But now, we can be together baby. We just have to make sure your mate is dead and when that bastard in your belly is gone, we can start making our life together.”
I’m trying to follow his words, but I’m struggling to keep up. What did he

I shake my head, trying to make my brain work. My mate and pup are in trouble. I need to get out of here and find Robin.
‘Adira?‘
My wolf doesn’t answer. She’s either still drugged or she’s giving her strength to save our pup. Now my mate, pup, AND wolf’s lives are in danger. I need to find a way out of here fast.
I look around, trying to understand where I am and why I’m so sore. I realize my arms are over my head and I look up. Camden has me in silver handcuffs, but he’s wrapped my arms in a cloth so the silver doesn’t burn my skin. It does, however, impact Adira. If it impacts her enough, she won’t be able to protect our pup. I have no doubt Camden will try to get rid of my son.
I look around, hoping to figure out where I am.
“Oh, don’t worry. They’ll never find us here. Well, they may, eventually, but by then it will be too late,” he says smugly.
We’re in a packhouse, what looks like an Alpha suite, but it’s so quiet. No packhouse is this quiet, unless…
He taps my temple with his finger. “I see you’ve figured it out. You always were smart, Nicole. That’s why I wanted you. Well, that and you‘ re a fucking wildcat. I’ve been dying to tame you for years. Of course, you had to run off and ruin my plans. I had every intention of making you my Luna. I just needed you at my side, and then we could have killed your brother, and I would have taken his place. No one would question it with you by my side, would they? It was brilliant. I’d planned it perfectly. And then you had to go and ruin it,” he snarls.
