The One I Should've Married (Stella and Sebastian) novel Chapter 107

Inside the car.

Through the rearview mirror, Kellen watched Stella slap Danie twice.

He noted how Danie went from acting totally arrogant to looking at Stella with sheer terror.

Kellen couldn't help but click his tongue in admiration. "Your temper has finally reverted to how it was three years ago, Ms. Channing."

"This is much better to look at."

What in the world was she doing playing maid in the Sinclair household for the past three years?

Waiting on her in-laws, no less.

When Kellen first found out she was 'serving her elders', he genuinely suspected Stella was going to poison the entire Sinclair family in one go.

After all, her explosive personality was no secret.

To his utter shock, she just kept serving them. Over and over again.

She acted so docile that everyone who knew her was left completely dumbfounded.

If that wasn't spiritual amnesia, what was?

Not only was Stella seemingly possessed, but Sebastian was acting like a possessed man too. He actually started believing in the divine, constantly flying out to his spiritual retreats.

Every time he went, he would have closed-door meetings with Master Lucius.

No one knew what they actually talked about.

But after every meeting, Sebastian's faith seemed to grow deeper, and his devotion to his rituals became increasingly intense.

Sitting in the backseat, the man with short, sharp hair wore a black tailored suit. He held a string of sandalwood prayer beads in his hand.

His fingers moved over the beads at a slow, hypnotic pace.

Hearing Kellen comment on Stella's temper, a deeply affectionate smile curved Sebastian's lips. "This is who she really is."

Her true self.

Kellen asked, "Do you want me to give Ms. Channing a hand?"

But from the looks of it, she clearly didn't need any.

With how ruthless she was being, anyone stupid enough to cross her path was just asking to be ripped to shreds.
