The One I Should've Married (Stella and Sebastian) novel Chapter 12

Stella's gaze landed on the emerald rosary in Eleanor's hand.

A light chuckle escaped her lips. "Three years ago, the Sinclair family was facing bankruptcy. You sold everything you could!"

"Every single valuable piece you're wearing right now came from me, Stella Channing! You leech off me to enjoy your lavish lifestyle, yet you look down on me for throwing myself at you. Hah!"

"Since you're all so high and mighty, why don't you return everything you've taken from me?"

The room went silent.

Crazy!

She was completely out of her mind. If she wasn't, why would she cause such a scene?

Eleanor's face was livid, the emerald beads suddenly feeling heavy and burning against her skin.

Just who gave her the audacity?

If the Channing elders were still alive, it would be a different story. But they had perished in a plane crash.

"What exactly are you implying?" Eleanor demanded.

"The fact that you're asking proves you trust your own ears."

Stella replied, meeting Eleanor's fiery glare head-on. Before she could even take a breath,

Eleanor continued, "What about your position as Julian's wife leaves you so dissatisfied?"

Her voice was pure ice.

As she asked the question, she looked from Stella to Julian.

Upon seeing the bruises on Julian's face, Eleanor's expression darkened even further.

She then shifted her gaze back to Stella,

completely ignoring the humiliating remarks Stella had just made.

Putting on her strict, authoritarian tone again, she scolded, "You are Julian's wife. No matter how much that wild woman outside jumps around, you must never lose the grace and composure befitting your title!"

"You've completely lost your decorum today!"

For the past three years, Eleanor had constantly drilled these lessons into Stella, and she had always been exceedingly obedient.

To put it bluntly, it was pure manipulation.

And that parasite of a soul had been thoroughly brainwashed, taking her teachings to heart at all times.
