The Perfect Wife's Perfect Revenge novel Chapter 758

Gwyneth arrived at the hospital and headed straight for Connor’s room. As she approached the door, she heard two voices inside, seemingly in the middle of an argument.

“Connor, you broke a rib, not your hands! You’re a grown man. Do I really have to cut up your fruit and feed it to you?”

Leonie felt like she was going crazy. The man was almost fully recovered and could walk on his own, yet he acted like a complete invalid. He’d lean on her for support, and when it was time to eat, he’d just open his mouth and wait to be fed.

Connor was engrossed in a game on his phone. “I’m a patient. Can’t you show a little compassion? Besides, you know exactly how I ended up in this car crash. Gwyneth may be the one I’ve always admired, but she’s your aunt now. That makes you two family. She puts me in the hospital with a serious injury, and all they do is send you to look after me for a few days. Don’t act so reluctant.”

He continued his rant while playing his game, and Leonie rolled her eyes. “Your injury is practically healed! Will it kill you to feed yourself? Are your hands only good for playing games?”

Connor finally looked up from his phone and gave Leonie a long, hard stare. “Who said that’s all I do? At least I don’t need your help in the bathroom anymore.”

“…”

Leonie’s face flushed beet red. “You have the nerve to say that! You, a grown man, letting an unmarried young woman like me take care of you. You must be so proud.”

Connor sized her up. “Unmarried young woman? You don’t act like one. The first day you were here, you practically stared a hole through me when I was changing my pants. Your eyes nearly popped out of your head, and you were practically drooling. Don’t you dare tell me you weren’t thinking about… things. That’s not something a proper lady does.”

He brought up that incident again, and Leonie was furious. “I was just curious, okay? Curious!”

It was true, she’d never seen one in person before—outside of certain movies, of course. And from her brief observation, Connor’s… equipment… didn’t quite measure up to what she’d seen on screen.
