Leonie’s jaw dropped. A world-renowned racing legend? Could what Connor said be true?
“That was all in the past,” Gwyneth said, trying to downplay it.
But Leonie’s admiration for her only grew. No wonder she thought her aunt and the famous racer looked alike—she was her daughter! Staring at Gwyneth, Leonie lamented, “It’s such a shame I couldn’t make it to your wedding with Uncle. If I had gone, I could have met the legend herself.”
Connor was about to say something, but Leonie turned to him with a serious expression. “So, my aunt is the daughter of a racing legend. Tsk, tsk. And you were showing off.”
Connor’s expression shifted. That simple-minded girl was clearly closer to Gwyneth. Their friendship seemed unbreakable.
“Connor, I just came to check on you,” Gwyneth said, seeing he was fine. “Since you’re okay, I should probably get going. It’s getting late.”
Connor’s voice was muffled. “Go ahead. I’m fine, I won’t die. Besides, you’re a married woman now. It wouldn't look good if people saw you hanging around my room all the time.”
Leonie pinched him hard, making him yelp. “What was that for? That hurts!”
She glared at him. “If you know what pain feels like, then stop talking nonsense. If you’re not polite to my aunt, I won’t be polite to you either.”
Gwyneth found their bickering amusing. “You take care of him, Leonie. I’m leaving.”
Leonie quickly stepped away from Connor. “I’ll walk you out, Aunt Gwyneth. Actually, I think I’ll leave with you.” The sky was already getting dark. She’d been spending so much time at the hospital because of Connor that she always went home smelling of antiseptic. Mrs. Everhart had already started giving her suspicious looks. With her aunt around, she had a perfect excuse. She could just say she was visiting Gwyneth whenever she came to see Connor. Her parents would be relieved. On her way back, she could just stop by her uncle’s house, take a quick shower, and then go home.
Connor watched the two women leave, a bitter taste in his mouth. He wasn’t particularly bothered by Gwyneth’s departure, but when Leonie left, a hollow feeling settled in his chest.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Perfect Wife's Perfect Revenge
If Gwyn gets an abortion I am going to stop reading this story, I believe in pro-choice but come on. Why can't he just tell her what he is really doing with Patti instead of letting her think she is a mistress....
Why no updates? It’s been so long! Pls update....
