Patti knew exactly what James was thinking. He wanted to use the hundred million to lure her into a meeting. But she had learned her lesson. After being played by both James and Hawthorne, she knew if she wasn't smarter this time, she’d be eaten alive. Hawthorne, at least, had given her five million. But James was a cheapskate. He had promised her a monthly allowance, but to this day, she hadn’t even seen twenty thousand from him.
“You’re quite the comedian, Mr. Mercer. Offering me a hundred million just like that? I never received any of the money you promised me before. If you won’t even part with a small amount, why should I believe you’d give me a large one? Don’t try to fool me again. I have proof of all your other children and their mothers. What do you think your dear Sallie would do if I sent it all to her?”
What happened at the company celebration was just an appetizer. Patti had dug up everything she could on James, uncovering all five of his secret families and the women he kept. That wasn't even counting the endless stream of women he entertained for fun. Since coming into money, James had probably slept with a thousand women over the past twenty years. Sallie knew about his infidelity, of course, but she turned a blind eye. It was impossible to control, and she figured all men were more or less the same. For now, she could still manage James, and he couldn’t take a single penny from the Yeager family fortune. With a daughter between them, Sallie believed that as long as she dealt with the women who got too close, James would eventually settle down. But James had circles within circles, a level of deception Sallie couldn’t have imagined.
Realizing Patti wasn't falling for his bluff, James’s temper flared. “Patti Yale, don’t push your luck. So what if you have evidence on me? You think I can’t touch you? Be careful you don’t play this game too far and end up dead without knowing how.”
Patti laughed coldly. “I’ve recorded every word you’ve said to me. If something happens to me, the police will come for you first. Don’t think you can get away with anything. And don’t forget, a little thing called the internet exists. If I leak all your dirty secrets online, do you think you’ll have any way out? Your company is about to go public, isn’t it? After all, you signed that massive deal, and Lanny is so impressed with you. What do you think will happen to your partnership when he finds out about your sordid affairs? And when your relationship with Ms. Everhart is completely destroyed, when she finds out you have five other wives and eight sons, do you think she’ll still support your ambitions?”
James gritted his teeth. “Are you threatening me? Fine. You win. I’ll have the finance department transfer the money to you right now.”
Patti swirled the wine in her glass. On the sofa, Gwyneth, with her hands and feet bound, was still unconscious.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Perfect Wife's Perfect Revenge
I can’t even read this sickening story anymore, this couple didn’t even get a chance to be really happy before their marriage was torn apart. It had been dragged out long enough....
If Gwyn gets an abortion I am going to stop reading this story, I believe in pro-choice but come on. Why can't he just tell her what he is really doing with Patti instead of letting her think she is a mistress....
Why no updates? It’s been so long! Pls update....
