The Perfect Wife's Perfect Revenge novel Chapter 886

Someone muttered under their breath, just loud enough for everyone to hear.

"If he doesn't like her, why did he drag all of us out in the middle of the night to scour the city for her? Was that all fake? He's just too damn proud. Just go up, say 'I'm sorry, I messed up,' buy her some flowers, and apologize. Would it kill him?"

Connor shot them a death glare, and the guy immediately shut up.

Despite his warnings, Connor couldn't resist sneaking glances toward their table. But he strictly kept his eyes on Leonie, completely ignoring Celia.

It had been over half a month since they last saw each other. Leonie had lost weight since the days she used to hang around him, and her eyes had lost their usual spark.

"Leonie, that guy over there keeps looking our way. I think he's staring at you."

Chris spotted Connor and shot him a flat glare in return.

Leonie followed his gaze. Connor noticed, and right before they made eye contact, he quickly snapped his head away.

"Did someone else catch feelings for you, Leonie?"

Celia looked over as well, though she didn't recognize Connor. She had only heard his name from her sister, knowing Leonie was currently heartbroken over him.

Leonie took one look, her eyes welling with a mix of sorrow and resentment. Chris instantly connected the dots and took a slow sip of his drink.

"That wouldn't happen to be Connor Kaufman, would it? He doesn't look like a decent guy."

So this was the "Connor" their sister had grown up with? He looked arrogant and dangerous, like a textbook delinquent.

Thank God their sister didn't like him. They definitely wouldn't want a brother-in-law like that.

Leonie forced herself to look away from Connor.
