The Perfect Wife's Perfect Revenge novel Chapter 888

Chris scoffed. "I don't date because if I ran into clueless women like you, I'd rather just stay single.

"Why go through all this trouble for a guy? If I were a woman and a guy didn't like me, I'd just replace him. Why act so neurotic and lower your own standards?"

Chris's words hit a little too close to home. Leonie's expression shifted slightly, and under the table, Celia immediately kicked Chris in the shin.

"If you don't want to listen, you can tune it out. No one asked for your opinion. Leonie, ignore him. He's just begging for a beating. Let's not bring this ungrateful jerk next time we go out."

Leonie and Celia continued to whisper to each other, acting all secretive.

Over at his booth, Connor sat quietly nursing his drink, but his friends couldn't handle the tension anymore.

"Look, just drop the act. You obviously like the Everhart heiress, Boss. Didn't you see her flirting with that waiter?

"And that young, handsome guy next to her? Aren't you worried? You're not going to find another girl as good as her anytime soon.

"If you're too proud, we can go apologize for you. It's not that deep."

Connor downed the rest of his glass in one shot.

"Are you guys done? I came out to drink and have a good time, not get lectured by you idiots. If you're going to keep nagging, get the hell out."

Seeing that Connor was genuinely pissed, they all went dead silent.

Leonie, Celia, and Chris waited for nearly twenty minutes before Dorian finally appeared.

He had changed into his regular clothes—a crisp white button-down, black trousers, and a light gray trench coat. With his slightly messy hair, deep hazel eyes, and long lashes, he looked striking.
