The Perfect Wife's Perfect Revenge novel Chapter 903

Leonie's face burned scarlet under Hawthorne's lecture.

Hawthorne watched her stand there with her feet pressed tightly together, head bowed like a child caught in a lie, and he couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

He felt like he was losing his ruthless edge. Ever since marrying Gwyneth, even the way he looked at people had softened. The cold, decisive man he used to be felt like a distant memory.

"Regardless, he's your friend. Since you're asking, I'll help him this one time. But this is the last time. If this Dorian gets himself into trouble again, do not come to me."

Hawthorne knew his own threat lacked real bite, but Leonie nodded enthusiastically, thrilled he had agreed.

"I promise, Hawthorne! Dorian won't cause any more trouble. You have my word."

She raised three fingers in a solemn vow.

Over at the club, Sully and his thugs checked on Dorian every two hours, demanding to know if he had thought things through. Dorian, his mouth still bleeding, ignored them.

He couldn't help but smile bitterly. It wasn't that he didn't want to go back to Felicia; she had kicked him to the curb. But these men were completely clueless.

They assumed that because Felicia had stopped dropping money at Sully's club, she and Dorian had gotten into a lover's spat, and she was simply waiting for him to come crawling back.

But Dorian knew the grim reality: if Sully realized he was truly worthless to Felicia, he would treat Dorian like the rest of the club escorts, forcing him to service any client who walked through the door, no matter how repulsive.

By the time Sully swaggered back into the room for the fourth time, Dorian was practically unconscious, his body trembling with exhaustion. Sully kicked him sharply.

"Get up. Quit playing dead. I'm still waiting for an answer."

Seeing Sully loom over him, Dorian forced himself to sit up, instantly coughing up another mouthful of blood. Sully didn't even flinch.

"Don't try to play the victim with me. Save that pathetic look for Felicia. It's the only thing that'll make her feel sorry for you."

Dorian looked up at Sully, a tragic, hollow smile touching his lips.

"If I told you Felicia dumped me, would you even believe it?"

Sully stared at him for a few seconds, his expression morphing into one of sarcastic disappointment.
