The Perfect Wife's Perfect Revenge novel Chapter 911

She wasn't even sure if Connor actually liked her, or if this was just his bruised ego acting out.

Leonie leaned toward the latter. She had chased him so openly, only to run off with Dorian, which undoubtedly dealt a massive blow to his pride. That had to be the only reason he pulled a stunt like today's.

Otherwise, given Connor's personality, he probably wouldn't have given her the time of day even if she went crawling back to him.

Connor was always surrounded by gorgeous women. As the untouchable, arrogant heir who was constantly pursued, he had completely forgotten how to interact with a normal girl.

For a fleeting moment, Leonie felt like she was out of her mind. She never should have provoked Connor in the first place.

Gwyneth saw how conflicted she was over the fight with Connor and didn't quite know what to say.

Truthfully, she hoped Leonie would end up with Connor. At least they came from the same world, and she wouldn't have to constantly worry about Leonie's safety.

Dorian, on the other hand, was entirely different. His background was complicated, his origins murky, and Leonie was a sheltered, wealthy girl. If someone told Gwyneth that this Dorian kid was with Leonie purely out of innocent affection, she wouldn't believe it to save her life.

Of course, she kept those thoughts to herself to spare Leonie's feelings.

"How did Connor manage to make you this mad again? Tell me all about it."

Gwyneth was already used to Connor's notoriously unreliable antics. She honestly didn't know which of them owed the other a karmic debt from a past life. They were always hopelessly tangled up, yet entirely incapable of just being together properly.

It was a chaotic dynamic Gwyneth couldn't comprehend; she preferred the steady, deep-rooted romance she shared with Hawthorne.

When prompted, Leonie didn't even know where to begin venting her frustrations. So, she simply dumped everything Connor had done that day into one long, exasperated rant.
