103 Chapter 103 It Is Finished Now

Blanche’s POV 1

The atmosphere in the private room felt suffocating, so I quietly moved closer to Amara’s side.

Amara switched off the music and dimmed the lights, which immediately set Marquis off. He exploded right there on the spot.

The entire room fell into dead silence.

Amara remained still, her eyes fixed on Marquis with an eerily calm expression.

When she finally spoke, her voice was barely above a whisper. Marquis, do I make you happy?

Marquis seemed to sense something was different about Amara.

She’d never questioned their relationship in front of everyone like this, but now she asked so casually, as if the answer held no weight at

all.

He hesitated, momentarily forgetting about the music and lighting incident.

Yeah, I’m happy. Why are you asking?Marquis replied.

His tone carried an edge, like he wanted to avoid the conversation entirely.

Amara’s eyes glistened with unshed tears, though she managed a weak smile.

But Marquis, I’m not happy anymore.

She could overlook Marquis’s infidelity, even his violence, but she couldn’t stomach how he viewed her parents.

How dare he claim my parents had to grovel before he’d consider marrying me? If that’s truly his perspective, I’d rather be alone forever,

Amara thought.

I stood nearby, watching, and could tell Amara meant every word this time. This wasn’t another empty threat.

When Marquis heard Amara’s confession about her unhappiness, he looked genuinely puzzled. What’s that supposed to mean? Starting

another fight?

Amara always backed down first during their arguments.

Marquis consistently held the power in their relationship battles.

But this time, Amara wouldn’t give him that opportunity.

Amara locked eyes with Marquis, her voice steady and final. Marquis, we’re done.”

Marquis seemed stunned, yet he didn’t utter a single word to stop her or offer any explanation.

He recalled this wasn’t Amara’s first breakup attempt.

But every previous time, she’d eventually returned, begging for reconciliation.

So this time, he assumed nothing would change.

He didn’t bother trying to stop her or defend himself.

Amara had anticipated this reaction, so disappointment didn’t even register. She simply took my hand and headed for the exit.

Marquis didn’t even wait for us to leave before cranking the music back up and brightening the lights.

The room instantly resumed its chaotic energy.

Finally, someone spoke up. Marquis, maybe you should go after Amara. She seemed genuinely upset.”

But Marquis just brushed it off. Relax. She’ll come crawling back soon enough. Without me, who else would take her? Who’d want

damaged goods?

His friend attempted to reason with him. Marquis, don’t you think you’re being cruel?

Marquis snatched the microphone and announced, Whatever. Let’s keep this party rolling. She’ll be back.”

His voice boomed through the speaker system. Amara and I, already partway down the corridor, heard every amplified word clearly.

Marquis was obviously broadcasting his message to warn Amara against causing a scene.

Concerned for Amara, I instinctively squeezed her hand tighter.

Amara stopped walking and gave me a gentle, reassuring smile. Blanche, I’m truly fine, she said quietly.

I forced myself to relax and dropped the subject, choosing not to push further.

But then Amara nodded toward something and said, Blanche, look over there.

I followed her gaze and saw Zain, Carry, Drew, Joanna, and Nicholas gathered together.

The bar was loud and chaotic, and frankly, Carry was way too young to be in such an environment.

I checked the time. Nearly eleven o’clock.

I felt my irritation spike, remembering how Carry had complained about stomach issues just days earlier. I’d specifically told Zain that

Carry needed to maintain regular hours.

Clearly, he’d completely ignored my advice.

Frustrated and fed up, I found myself walking directly toward Zain and his group without conscious thought.

But after several steps, I stopped abruptly.

I realized, Even if I drag Carry out of here tonight, what about tomorrow?

If I interfere now, Carry will just lash out at me for overstepping

After wavering, I decided to let it go.

I thought, Why should I go out of my way for such a thankless task? I’ve already done what I could.

Whatever happens from here is Zain’s responsibility to manage

I controlled myself and didn’t interfere.

Instead, I took Amara’s hand and we left the bar together.

Once outside, we stood on the sidewalk, letting the cool night air refresh us.

After we’d both settled down, neither of us mentioned relationships.

Amara turned to me and said, Help me pack my stuff.”

I didn’t hesitate for a second. Of course,I answered.

Amara looked somewhat surprised. You’re not going to question me about anything?

I shook my head. I can tell you’re truly ready to move forward. You have the same look I had when I finally released Zain

Amara smiled slightly. Honestly, Blanche, I always knew deep down that I was holding onto something toxic. But sometimes, you can’t

really turn around until you’ve completely hit bottom.

I blinked, startled. “Amara, are you telling me

Amara maintained that subtle smile. Yes, I begged him to reconcile, and I treated him wonderfully on purpose. I just want

exactly how cruel he could be. I needed to know if he had any humanity left.

I couldn’t find words. I simply embraced Amara tightly, attempting to console her, It’s finished now. Whenever you chome to let go. it

never too late.

Some people could release their grip instantly, but others needed repeated pain until both parties were completely destroyed.

When we arrived at Amara’s apartment, I helped her organize everything.

We were busy packing when my phone buzzed. Zain was calling.

I really didn’t want to answer, but considering something might have happened to Carry, I picked up anyway

What do you need?I asked curtly as soon as I answered.

Zain’s voice came through, icy and blunt. Where are you?

I wasn’t in the mood to respond. I interrupted him. Just tell me what you want.

I seriously doubted he was calling for casual conversation.

Zain said, You don’t need to return to Blissfield Villa for several days.

I simply responded, my tone emotionless, Fine.”

I understood now that with Joanna back, there was no room for me at Blissfield Villa anymore.

Zain continued, Carry’s okay. Don’t worry about her.

My voice turned cold and detached. Fine, I understand.

With Joanna present, Carry wouldn’t face any issues anyway,

With that, I was about to end the call.

But then Zain’s voice came through again. Hey, where were you Saturday night? Why didn’t you pick up when I called?

I knew he was referring to the night Vincent was in my car, but I shot back, Zain, I don’t owe you reports about my whereabouts.

Zain’s voice was low and frigid. You’re my wife. I need to know you’re secure.”

I let out a bitter laugh. Don’t waste your energy, Zain. That’s completely unnecessary.”

With that, I hung up without hesitation.

Wife? Security? How much of that is actually genuine?I thought, my heart turning cold.

If this had happened before, I would’ve been ecstatic beyond measure.

But now, I didn’t trust Zain whatsoever. His heart belonged to Joanna. There was no possibility he’d ever genuinely care about me.
