160 Chapter 160 The Player Makes His Move
Blanche’s POV 1
Vincent’s car pulled up at the curb, and I watched as he stepped out, casually unbuttoning his suit jacket.
He walked forward with confidence, his black suit hanging open, hands tucked in his pockets, stepping out of the shadows with that
effortless swagger and raw energy.
Sure, Vincent had earned himself quite the reputation in business circles, but damn if he wasn’t gorgeous. Those roguish eyes and that
magnetic presence–he was annoyingly captivating.
At the entrance, I turned with the others at the sound of his approaching footsteps, watching Vincent stride toward us with complete
confidence.
When he reached us, Vincent stopped in front of our group, flashing Wayne a warm smile. “Mr. Tim, since it’s your birthday, how about
doing me a favor and being my witness?”
Vincent showed up empty–handed, but I knew Wayne was aware the Aarav family’s gift had been delivered earlier that afternoon.
Both families held power in Oakwood, but the Aaravs always ranked higher than the Tim family.
I could see Wayne wanted to agree immediately, but being the shrewd businessman he was, he clearly sensed Vincent’s attitude was
aimed at Zain. He also understood the rivalry between the Aarav and Jacob families.
Wayne chuckled and waved Vincent off. “Vincent, I’m getting too old for this. I think I’ll leave you young people to handle your own
battles.”
Noticing Wayne’s discomfort, Zain stepped forward. “What do you want, Mr. Aarav? Let’s hear it.”
I stood to the side, sensing Vincent’s intentions were far from friendly. Still, I knew I had no right to speak up in this situation.
Besides, Vincent might not even be targeting me.
So I stayed quiet, watching everything unfold.
Vincent didn’t push Wayne further. Seeing Zain’s straightforward approach, he turned to him with a smirk. “Mr. Jacob, you know I’ve got
quite the playboy reputation. If I go a day without seeing a beautiful woman, I swear it feels like I’m dying. So how about you do me a
favor and let your gorgeous secretary keep me company for a while?”
Zain couldn’t help but laugh at Vincent’s boldness. “You just said you wanted something from me, Vincent, and now you’re asking for my
secretary’s company? Are you saying my secretary’s just some object to be passed around?”
Vincent raised an eyebrow at that, his gaze shifting to me. I caught the surprise and appreciation flickering in his eyes as he looked me over, then flashed me a charming smile.
Finally, Vincent looked back at Zain. “Mr. Jacob, all I’m asking for is a chance to appreciate your secretary’s beauty. You know, experts say admiring pretty women is good for your health. Sure, we might clash in business, but you wouldn’t wish me an early death, would you?”

I could tell Vincent was setting traps with every word.
Zain just smiled quietly, saying nothing.
Seeing Zain remain silent, Vincent pressed on. “Mr. Jacob, does that mean you agree?”
I could see Zain clearly didn’t want to agree, and he was about to refuse when several more cars pulled up at the curb.
At the same time, I heard Joanna’s voice ring out. “Zain.”
I turned and saw Joanna, Drew, Nathan, and Nicholas approaching.
Seeing the new arrivals, Wayne hurried over to greet them, offering cigars.
I knew he was familiar with Drew and Nicholas, but the two with them–Nathan and Joanna–were strangers to him.
Still, since they’d arrived with Drew and the others, Wayne must have figured they were important.
So he made sure to greet each of them properly.
After Wayne finished his greetings, I watched Zain walk over and stand beside Joanna. He glanced at Nathan and greeted him with a nod.
“Nathan.”
Nathan gave a gentle smile. “Zain, no need for the formalities–it just makes us feel like strangers. We’re all going to be family soon
anyway.”
Once Wayne had welcomed everyone, he left the group to chat and went off to greet other guests.
Hearing Nathan’s words, Zain smiled and said, “Alright, Nathan.”
I found it almost amusing how close Zain was getting to Nathan.
Zain was so obvious about his feelings for Joanna, it was practically shameless.
He treated Nathan, Joanna’s brother, like family already.
Meanwhile, when it came to Quinton, my brother, Zain had never even set foot in the Callum family home, not even during holidays.
He didn’t have a single phone number from my family.
I noticed Vincent hadn’t left my side. When he saw what must have been a heartbroken smile on my face, something shifted in his
expression–he looked both pained and angry.
As the crowd gathered around, Zain seemed to forget about turning Vincent down.
Seeing everyone joking and laughing together, I didn’t feel like sticking around. I turned and headed back inside.
But just then, Nathan looked over and called out to me, “Ms. Callum, what a coincidence! We meet again.
Nathan was all smiles, but I could sense the sharp edge hidden behind that grin.
I turned around, meeting Nathan’s gaze directly. “What’s so amusing, Mr. Vins? Is running into you supposed to be some kind of good
luck charm?”

Nathan made my skin crawl.
Not only did he have some sick obsession with Amber, but even after learning I was Zain’s wife, he still had the audacity to openly hit on
I had no clue what his real game was.
All I knew was that I wanted to stay as far away from him as possible.
Nathan clearly hadn’t expected me to be so blunt.
His smile went rigid, and he asked, “Ms. Callum, you seem hostile toward me.”
I answered without hesitation, my voice clear and direct. “Not exactly, but I despise people like you.”
When I said “people like you,” I was including Joanna in that category, making it obvious my contempt extended to both of them.
Nathan’s expression darkened. “You-”
Before he could snap back, Joanna reached out and grabbed his arm, saying softly, “Nathan, it’s Mr. Tim’s birthday party. Let’s not cause a
scene.”
I noticed Zain was deep in conversation with Drew and Nicholas and probably hadn’t caught the tension between Nathan and me.
Seeing this, Vincent couldn’t hold back anymore. He pulled me behind him, shielding me, and called out loudly, “Mr. Jacob?”
Zain turned at Vincent’s voice, his brow creasing slightly. “What’s wrong?”
Vincent flashed a loaded smile, his gaze lingering on Joanna with a look that held meaning only he understood.
He quickly looked away, then with a tone that was half envious and half playful, said to Zain, “Mr. Jacob, you really lucked out. The lady by
your side is not only beautiful and elegant, but also gentle and knows exactly how to conduct herself. You’d better hold on tight, or I
might just have to steal her away for myself.”
Vincent’s words walked the line between provocation and sincerity–half–joking, half–serious. Everyone present, except Joanna, could
tell he was just stirring up trouble.
Joanna knew Zain and Vincent were rivals, but getting complimented by Vincent still made her feel giddy inside.
She couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Did Vincent just get a little dazzled by my looks too?”
Everyone had heard the stories about Vincent.
Just knowing he’d looked her way more than once sent Joanna’s pulse racing.
She had to admit–Vincent was every bit as impressive as Zain, in looks and presence.
But if she could actually make Vincent fall for her, Joanna would feel like she’d won the ultimate prize.
After all, Zain only ever had Blanche around, but Vincent was constantly surrounded by beautiful women.

Joanna couldn’t help thinking. If I could make a player like Vincent go exclusive, wouldn’t that prove I’m more irresistible than almost
anyone?‘
Vincent had only glanced at Joanna once, but in her mind, she’d already spun an entire romantic fantasy.
As Joanna let her imagination run wild with these made–up scenarios, she couldn’t help but blush.
I watched as Zain didn’t give Vincent’s words a second thought.
He gently took Joanna by the wrist and said, “Come on, let’s head inside. I’ll introduce you to some prominent figures in the medical
field.”
Joanna snapped back to reality and answered, “Oh, sure.”
Once they were inside, I saw Drew stroll over to Vincent, chuckling. “Sure, you’ve got plenty of women chasing after you, Mr. Aarav, but
not every girl is that easy. Joanna? Forget it–she’s one you’ll never get, no matter what.”
