06 Chapter 306 A Dangerous
Temptation
Blanche’s POVO
Zain’s kiss consumed me, commanding yet somehow gentle all at once.
He knew precisely what he was doing–with just a few kisses, I simply dissolved in his arms.
I wanted to push him away, but I couldn’t find the strength.
I just let him steal every breath from me, bit by bit.
Zain held me close, and I felt myself melting against him.
His fingers moved to my shirt, undoing the first button -and then, suddenly, he stopped.
Looking down at me, Zain saw my cheeks burning from his kisses. I could feel his heart racing against mine; desire radiated from him like heat.
I knew he wanted me right there and then.

But something made him freeze–he forced himself to pull back, and I heard him whisper roughly, “Not yet. I can’t have you yet.”
Zain’s POV
It wasn’t the first time he’d had to control his desire
around Blanche.
Right now, he felt like he might combust.
But for her reputation, he held himself back and decided to step away.
Blanche’s POV
My thoughts felt completely scrambled, swirling like fog, unable to make sense of anything.
Zain scooped me up, his voice rough and deep against my ear. “I’m sorry, sweetheart. I still can’t make you mine.”
His words jolted me awake–my eyes flew open, and the haze cleared instantly, leaving me completely

sober.
I jerked upright and shoved Zain away.
At the same time, I fumbled to button my shirt and snapped angrily, “Zain, you… you have no shame!”
Seeing me fuming, Zain just grinned, his handsome face lighting up. He leaned in and teased, “Sweetheart, don’t you think this is kind of exciting?”
I didn’t even bother answering. I simply turned around, opened the car door, and stepped out, completely ignoring him.
Seeing this, Zain quickly jumped out of the car and came after me.
He called out, “Are you mad at me?”
I just kept walking, totally ignoring him and not even looking back.
Honestly, I wasn’t even sure if I was truly upset with Zain anymore.
Right now, my heart was chaos–every possible emotion swirling inside, leaving me completely conflicted.

I was convinced I hated Zain, yet a moment ago, I almost found myself ready to give in to him.
Being with him felt incredible–so good, in fact, that part of me secretly longed for it to continue, the temptation dangerously strong…
But now, with my head clear and reality hitting me, I could only feel sharp shame washing over me.
I wasn’t even divorced yet, and already I was thinking about being with another man in that way.
I could feel the shame creeping up on me–it was
almost unbearable.
The more these thoughts flooded my mind, the quicker my steps grew, as if I could somehow walk
away from all the tangled shame and confusion if I just kept moving.
Seeing me ignore him, Zain rushed after me, catching my hand and asking in a low, almost pleading voice, “Come on, are you really mad at me?”
I stopped dead in my tracks, refusing to turn around. I just stared into the distance, my lips pressed together,

stubbornly silent.
Seeing me so unsettled, Zain suddenly seemed to feel
regret.
He loosened his grip on my arm.
He lowered his gaze, his voice soft and low. “I’m sorry.”
I still didn’t say anything. I spun around and strode straight out of the parking lot.
Seeing me ignore him and stay silent, Zain hurried after me again and said, “Come on, I’ll go up with Just take all your favorite clothes.”
you.
I yanked my hand out of Zain’s grip, shooting him a cold look. “I don’t want your stuff.”
Zain saw I was pissed, and yeah, he looked worried, but instead of asking, he just threw me that irritating, bad–boy smirk. “What, you feel guilty spending my money or something?”
I glared at him, my reply sharp. “No.”
Zain’s grin just got cockier as he grabbed my hand. “See? Still putting up a front. Only a woman who’s

actually thinking of marrying me would feel bad about spending my cash.”
With that, he stepped even closer, his broad frame completely blocking me in.
He looked down, laughter clear in his voice. “You know, it’s only when someone wants out that they start wishing they could blow through all your money.”
His meaning couldn’t be more obvious, and for some reason, I just snapped. I glared up at him, my voice harsh. “What a load of crap.”
Zain bent down so we were eye to eye, searching my face before smirking, “Come on, admit it–I nailed it,
didn’t I?”
I gave him a light slap, not really trying to hurt him at all–Zain could tell I was just being playful, almost like I was acting cute with him.
He grinned back at me, his eyes overflowing with doting affection and warmth.
I couldn’t bring myself to meet his gaze–his eyes burned with an intensity that made my heart race.

Just then, the shrill ringtone of a phone shattered the
silence.
For me, that sound was like a lifeline.
I wasn’t sure when it started, but lately, Zain’s gaze honestly made me nervous.
He always looked at me with that intense, soulful affection–and I was terrified that if I let myself get caught up in it, I’d tumble headfirst into another abyss.
The phone wouldn’t stop ringing, and when I glanced at the screen, I saw it was Demetrius calling.
I barely hesitated, quickly turning my back to Zain before answering Demetrius’s call.
Demetrius’s voice was clear and warm on the other
end, sounding almost inviting. “Blanche, do you want to grab dinner together tonight?”
I blinked in confusion and asked softly, “Demetrius, is something the matter?”
Could it be Demetrius’s birthday? That was my first knee–jerk thought.

But, truth was, I didn’t even know when Demetrius’s birthday actually was.
Demetrius said, “I want to take you out for a cheer–up
dinner.”
The words “cheer you up” instantly made everything
click for me.
My big exam was tomorrow–Demetrius just wanted to give me a little encouragement before the big day.
After thinking it over for a second, I simply said, “Sure.”
Once I’d agreed, Demetrius chuckled, “Alright, when I get off work I’ll come pick you up. Just drop the address to me on WhatsApp.”
“Okay,” I said.
I said yes without even thinking twice about it.
As soon as I hung up, before I could even put my phone away, Zain sidled over with that cocky, bad–boy grin tugging at his lips. “Sweetheart, you know I could give you a little encouragement too.”
I could tell he was just being cheeky, so I didn’t bother

playing along or asking what kind of ‘encouragement‘ he meant. Instead, I gave him a frosty glare and said flatly, “No need.”
I tried to walk around him but Zain suddenly leaned in close, his breath hot against my ear. “You know, just because my stomach’s full doesn’t mean all my appetites are satisfied.”
I instantly got what he meant, fuming as I snapped, “Zain, you’re absolutely shameless!”
I tried to hit him, but with one smooth move he
caught my hand and pulled me right up against his
chest.
His hand found my waist, that bad–boy grin never leaving his face. “Seriously, it’s not like today’s your first day dealing with me.”
I struggled, trying to wrestle my arm out of his grip, but no matter how much I fought, I couldn’t get free.
Finally, I just gave in and stopped fighting.
I shot Zain a helpless look, let out a long sigh and said, “Vincent will be here any minute… I really have to go

upstairs now.”
Zain looked at me, still puzzled. “Is he really that scary to you?”
I answered honestly, “I’m worried he won’t divorce
me.”
My straight answer took Zain aback for a moment.
He released me and stepped back, saying, “Then you’d better head up.”
I didn’t waste a single word—I just walked off and headed upstairs.
But just as I was about to turn into the stairwell, Zain called out, “Sweetheart.”
At the sound of that word, my steps faltered—I couldn’t help but pause, even if just for a second.
Seeing me hesitate, Zain’s grin grew even wider, taking my silence as permission to call me that.
Even though I didn’t turn around, Zain kept his eyes on me and said, “Don’t forget to miss me.”
I paused for a split second, but then I took off,

practically running away.
I knew if I didn’t get away now, my heart would only spiral further out of control.
