1 Chapter 311 The Woman I Love
Zain’s POV
Meanwhile, Desmond showed up at the restaurant after failing to bring Blanche back to me.
The moment he stepped into the private dining room, he was greeted by my carefully planned setup- colorful balloons floating everywhere, thoughtfully arranged presents, an elaborate lunch spread across the table, and a beautiful cake as the centerpiece.
I was alone in the room. The sound of footsteps made me turn toward the door instinctively.
But when I saw Desmond’s face instead of Blanche’s,
my smile died instantly.
“Where is she?” I demanded, my voice low and
strained.
Desmond couldn’t even look at me, his voice shaking as he answered, “Mr. Jake… he took her away.”
The words hit me like a punch. I slammed the spoon I’d been holding onto the table with a sharp crack.

After the jarring sound echoed through the room, I exploded at him, “Are you completely worthless? You couldn’t even bring her back. What’s the point of you?”
Terror flickered across Desmond’s face, but he still tried to defend himself, “Mr. Jacob, she wanted to go with Mr. Jake. I couldn’t force her.”
I didn’t want to hear his pathetic excuses. “Get out!
Now!”
Desmond bolted from the room without a backward
glance.
The private room sat there mocking me—confetti cannons ready to pop, carefully chosen gifts waiting to be opened, everything prepared for Blanche. I’d been counting down the minutes until she arrived so I could surprise her with something unforgettable.
Instead, she’d chosen to walk away with Demetrius.
Rage clawed at my chest. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore–I grabbed my phone and called Blanche’s number.
She didn’t answer.

I kept calling, over and over, but she ignored every single ring.
I was about to lose my mind completely.
Then my phone buzzed with an incoming call.
I snatched it up and checked the screen, hoping against hope it was Blanche–but it was Joanna calling.
The brief spark of hope in my chest turned to ash.
Seeing Joanna Vins’s name, I didn’t even hesitate–I declined the call immediately.
But she called right back, refusing to take the hint.
I kept rejecting her calls, but Joanna wouldn’t stop- she bombarded my phone relentlessly.
Finally, I’d had enough. I blocked Joanna’s number entirely.
Only then did I get some peace and quiet.
Meanwhile, back at Blissfield Villa, Joanna had dialed
Zain more than a dozen times without success.

He’d even blocked her number in the end.
Furious and desperate, Joanna hurled her phone at the
couch.
The device bounced off the cushions and struck Carry directly in the head.
Carry cried out in pain, clutching her head as she looked up at Joanna with wounded, tear–filled eyes. “Miss Joanna, you just―”
Before she could finish, Joanna snapped, “What are you whining about? Can’t you stay quiet for five
minutes?”
Carry froze, biting her lip as tears welled up, staring at Joanna in confused hurt.
Joanna was already wound tight from Zain ignoring her, and Carry’s sniffling was the last straw–it ignited something vicious inside her.
“All you ever do is cry–morning, noon, and night. Are you trying to make everyone around you miserable with your constant whimpering?” Joanna lashed out.
Carry stared at her in shock, unable to process that

Joanna could say something so cruel.
Heidi heard the commotion from the kitchen. Without even drying her hands, she rushed out immediately.
When Heidi reached Carry, she lifted the child into her arms and spoke gently, “Come on, sweetheart. Let Heidi take you upstairs to get cleaned up, okay?”
The moment Heidi picked her up, Carry’s tears burst forth like a broken dam, streaming down her face uncontrollably.
Joanna was still the lady of the house, so despite Heidi’s resentment, she didn’t dare speak up.
Still, she shot Joanna several sharp, disapproving
looks.
After they headed upstairs, Carry’s sobs grew even louder–she couldn’t stop crying.
Heidi held Carry close, pacing slowly around the room while murmuring comfort, “Shh, darling. Heidi’s here. I’ll stay right with you, I promise.”
Carry buried her face in Heidi’s shoulder, her words broken by hiccupping sobs. “Heidi, why was Aunt

Joanna so mean to me?”
Heidi’s heart ached for her. Softly, she tried to explain, “Oh, sweet girl, Aunt Joanna isn’t your real mother.
She doesn’t know how to be tender with you the way your own mama would, do you see?”
Carry erupted in anger, screaming at Heidi, “You’re lying to me! I don’t want you holding me anymore. Put me down right now!”
Heidi refused to release her, but Carry kept crying and thrashing, fighting against her grip.
Eventually, Carry managed to wriggle free from Heidi’s
arms.
Before Heidi could react, Carry darted out of the
bedroom and raced downstairs.
When she reached the first floor, Joanna was nowhere in sight.
Carry stood there alone and lost, her voice breaking as she called out, “Miss Joanna, don’t you want me
anymore?”
The only response came from Heidi’s worried voice

upstairs: “Miss Carry, be careful! You’ll hurt yourself running like that!”
Carry heard nothing–she just kept whispering “Miss Joanna…” over and over.
Blanche’s POV
At the restaurant, just as we finished eating, Demetrius and Vincent both stood up at the same time, claiming they needed the restroom.
Once they were gone, Patty slid closer to me and whispered, “Something about Vincent seems really familiar. Think we might have met him before?”
I frowned, nodding first, then shaking my head. “Honestly, I have no idea.”
Patty looked convinced. “I know I’ve seen him somewhere–just can’t remember where. It’s killing
me.”
I shrugged. “Maybe he just has one of those faces, you know?”

Patty shot me a look. “If that’s what average looks like, the world would be crawling with gorgeous men.”
I didn’t respond.
Just then, the cashier near the entrance called out, “Excuse me, gentlemen, you’ve both paid for the same check!”
Patty and I glanced toward the front.
Like they’d practiced it, Vincent and Demetrius both declared, “Give it back to him.”
After they spoke, Demetrius added, “I said this was my treat. No need for you to pay, Mr. Aarav.”
Vincent smirked. “I don’t like owing people favors. Consider this payback for helping my mother last time.”
Demetrius shook his head. “Helping patients is what doctors do—no big deal. Don’t worry about it. Lunch is
on me.”
Vincent’s expression darkened. He stepped forward, eyes narrowing as he sneered, “You really are stubborn as hell, aren’t you?”

Demetrius straightened, refusing to back down. He shot back, “Look who’s talking. If anyone’s stubborn here, it’s you.”
They faced off like two alpha males, neither willing to give ground.
Seeing them about to explode, I jumped up and rushed over, instinctively positioning myself in front of
Demetrius protectively.
But even with me standing between them, neither man would back down.
Vincent glared at Demetrius, his voice dripping with contempt. “Trying to show off, are we?”
Demetrius didn’t hold back. “I’m taking the woman I love out to dinner. Of course I’m paying. You don’t need to make a scene.”
When Vincent heard Demetrius mention “the woman I love,” his anger blazed hotter.
“Love her? Over my dead body. I won’t let you anywhere near her,” Vincent snarled.
Demetrius fired back, “Mind your own business. Focus

on yourself.”
Vincent sneered, “If you’re really a man, let’s take this outside. What kind of guy hides behind a woman?”
Demetrius’s eyes flashed with dangerous intensity. He said coldly, “Fine. I’ve been wanting to have this conversation with you for a while.”
They were acting like two children fighting over the same toy.
Honestly, it looked like they were ready to throw punches just to stake their claim.
