55 Chapter 55 Sweeping The Table Clean
Blanche’s POV 1
I had just left Blissfield Villa and slipped into my car when someone yanked open the passenger door from outside.
Caught off guard, I jumped as a figure quickly dropped into the seat beside me.
When I saw who it was, relief washed over me.
Vincent settled into the passenger seat and leaned closer, shrinking the space between us.
His eyes searched my face, hunting for any hint of what I was feeling. A brilliant smile spread across his lips as he teased, “What’s the
matter? Do I scare you that much, or are you just too bashful to look at me?”
I wasn’t in the mood for his games. “I have things to handle. Mr. Aarav, please get out.”
Vincent brushed off my request. He slouched back, hands clasped behind his head, and studied me. “What’s this about? You’re back in
Oakwood and suddenly acting like we’re strangers?”
Anxiety crept into my voice. “Vincent, I’m serious. I really need to go.”
Something in my tone made his playful mask slip away. He straightened up and, without thinking, reached out to mess with my hair.
He seemed surprised by his own gesture as he asked gently, “What’s wrong?”
Anyone listening closely would’ve caught the concern threading through his words.
My mind was a mess. The disappointment from my husband and daughter weighed heavy on my chest.
Vincent’s worry broke something inside me. Suddenly, I felt so hurt that tears started falling before I could stop them.
I tried to hold them back, but fighting only made the emotions stronger, made me want to cry even more.
Panic flashed across Vincent’s face when he saw my tears. “Blanche, hey, don’t cry. I’m useless at this comfort thing. Just tell me what’s
eating at you. I’ll fix it, alright? Please stop crying.”
The words tumbled out between sobs. “I only wanted to ask him two simple questions, but he won’t see me. He’s doing everything he
can to avoid me.”
Vincent gripped my arms. “You want to see Zain?”
My eyes were swollen and red as I nodded. “Yes.”
Vincent laughed. “That’s it? I thought something terrible happened. You want to see him? Say the word. I’ll take you right now.”
Hope flickered in my chest at his words, my voice shaking. “Really?”
Vincent grinned. “Stop crying, and I’ll drive you to him.”
I nodded frantically. “Okay, I’ll stop.”

Vincent’s voice turned coaxing. “Let me see a smile, yeah?”
I forced my lips upward, but honestly, it probably looked more pitiful than my tears.
Vincent pulled out his phone and made a quick call. Within minutes, he had what he needed.
After getting Zain’s location, Vincent climbed out, lifted me from the driver’s seat, and settled me in the passenger side.
He leaned over to fasten my seatbelt, that teasing grin back in place. “Sweetheart, I’m being pretty generous here, delivering you to my competition. When you’re finally mine, you owe me big for this.”
I stayed quiet. My eyes were still red, but all he’d see in them was pure determination.
Seeing my expression, Vincent chuckled softly. He found me cute like this. Without another word, he drove straight to Zain’s location.
We pulled up to a bar–the flashiest place in town, the kind only wealthy men could access.
Vincent was obviously a regular. The moment we walked in, a waiter rushed over with a fawning smile. “Mr. Aarav, which room tonight? That sweet little thing you liked last time is available–want me to send her over?”
“Not tonight. Just looking for someone,” Vincent replied curtly.
“Of course, Mr. Aarav. Those girls you called sexy, cute, and sweet are all free tonight if you change your mind,” the waiter persisted.
Vincent rolled his eyes. “When did I ever call anyone sexy, cute, or sweet?”
The waiter glanced at me, then back at Vincent. “Right, right, you never said that.”
Vincent smirked. “Exactly. Devoted guys like me are rare in Oakwood.”
The waiter gave awkward chuckles and retreated.
Worried I wouldn’t believe him, Vincent rushed to explain, “Sweetheart, ignore whatever people say about me. If you really knew me,
you’d see I’m the most faithful guy around.”
I looked up at him, keeping my expression neutral.
Seeing my lukewarm response, Vincent sighed. “Someday, sweetheart, you’ll realize how good I am to you.”
He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and guided me deeper into the bar.
We stopped at room 999, and Vincent kicked the door open without hesitation.
The door crashed open with a bang, making everyone inside turn our way.
Finally, I saw Zain seated at the center of the group, surrounded by several people, with Drew and Nicholas closest to him.
Beside Drew and Nicholas sat two curvy women wearing almost nothing–their revealing outfits left little to imagination as they lounged
next to the men.
Under everyone’s shocked stares, Vincent swaggered in with me, his arm still around my shoulders like he owned the place. He marched straight to the coffee table and, with bold defiance, swept all the bottles and glasses to the floor.

Bottles exploded and alcohol splashed everywhere, glass and liquor hitting the ground with explosive crashes.
The sound of shattering bottles made everyone flinch.
Without missing a beat, Vincent produced a silk scarf from somewhere and spread it over the table. Then he dragged the coffee table
forward, pressed down on my shoulders, and sat me right on top.
I faced Zain and the others directly, and I could see that Zain’s expression remained completely blank–utterly unmoved, as if nothing in
the world could touch him.
Drew looked ready to murder someone, his face twisted with fury. Nicholas just frowned deeply.
The two women beside Drew and Nicholas appeared startled, quickly adjusting their clothes as they shot wary looks at Vincent.
“Sweetheart, if you have something to say, ask it right here, face to face. I’m standing right here, and if anyone tries to stop you, they’ll
deal with me,” Vincent said, his tone casual but his expression dangerously cold.
His menacing gaze swept over the group on the couch, his powerful presence pressing down on everyone in the room.
Zain didn’t react at all. He simply raised his face to look at Vincent, calm and composed, yet somehow completely untouchable.
I glanced at him, slightly surprised that no woman was draped over him. Then I thought, ‘Of course–he’s probably saving himself for
Joanna.‘
Drew shot to his feet, his voice blazing with anger. “Vincent, who do you think you are, barging in here and causing chaos?”
Vincent raised an eyebrow, his stare sharp as blades. “Yeah, I’m causing trouble. So what? What are you gonna do about it?”
Drew was left speechless, his face burning red as he rolled up his sleeves, ready to fight. But Nicholas quickly grabbed his arm. “Drew,
don’t be reckless.”
I could tell–Drew wanted to say something harsh to Nicholas, but before he could speak, Zain interrupted. “You two, get out.”
Nicholas led Drew from the room, leaving just me, Zain, and Vincent.
I turned to Vincent and gave him a meaningful look, tilting my head toward the door.
Vincent didn’t want to leave. He sat down close beside me. “No way. I don’t feel comfortable leaving you alone with him.”
My eyes were full of stubborn determination, and Vincent knew he couldn’t win this battle. With a sigh, he stood up. “Fine, I’ll be right
outside. If you need anything, just yell.”
“Thanks,” I said softly.
Vincent bent down, his long, clean fingers twirling a loose strand of hair by my cheek. His tone was half–joking, half–serious. “Soon
enough, we’ll be family. Why be so polite with me? If I had to risk my life for you, I’d do it without hesitation.”
I was so used to Vincent’s nonsense that his words barely registered.
Once Vincent left, the room fell into immediate silence.
I glanced at Zain, but he completely ignored me, sitting there like I didn’t exist.
